Fastest way to LPN/RN?

U.S.A. Arizona

Hello,

I was wondering if somebody could give some insight into how a young adult could become a LPN or RN the quickest way possible in the PHX area. I've read and passed along some info on Ethel Bauer, Apollo, Gateway, Estrella Skills Ctr. Does anybody know which of those or others would be the quickest route?

Thanks!

I know the community colleges have a program for LPN-RN. Give one of the schools a call and set up an appointment with a counselor. We had two in our class last block who were LPNs and were going on to get their RN with us. We'll all be entering block 4 together in August.

Yes, I've encouraged her to do that. Right now she is looking at a program that costs $42,000 which seems like too much. I know when I went to school, I probably didn't spend $5,000. Scary!

Ok, the quickest way to become and LPN would be Maricopa skills center, Southwest skills center or the East valley institute. Go to the AZ board of nursing website and click community resources and then education. Navigate through the different programs and you can get all the ph. numbers. The quickest way to get your R.N would be Ethel Bauer although I have heard conflicting things about that school. However, everyone I talked to seemed very nice. Just remember, quick doesn't always mean best. If I was encouraging a young adult to go into this field I may recommend the LPN program first. That way they can get a feel for what nurses do, the program is fairly inexpensive, and not as grueling as the RN program. Remember, each of these programs will have some mandatory testing and/or pre-req's before being accepted along with the fact that they only start at various times throughout the year. It may be several months before you could actually even start school......Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice. I will definately pass that along. I know the program I went through allowed us to take LPN boards after the first year and that ended up being great work experience and I believe that year of working, while in school, really helped us to pass RN boards. Sounds like a great idea!

I am also looking for the quickest way to go from LPN to RN. Doing it via the internet seems quick but is very expensive. Any suggestions in the Lower Ny state area; Bronx,Yonkers vicinity.

Are there any financial aid programs for online LPN to RN programs?

Im almost a LVN and want to get my RN the easiest and fastest way. I heard about a program where you work as a LVN for 1 year and transition online to RN... it only takes about 3 to 6 months and you can take RN-NCLEX. Anyone know what this is called and where I can get the info? Thanks!
