Casa Grande?

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

hey everyone! I am a new graduate LPN in ohio planning on moving to Arizona and was told Casa Grande is a good place to live. I know nothing about the area or that side of the country for that matter! How is that city? Are there places to work around there? I am more interested in hospital work, but I can't seem to find anywhere hiring for LPN's. Also, what is the pay rate? Thanks!!

I lived in casa grande for about 4 months back in 2006. Its not a bad little town; however it is a little town. It has all the ammenities you would need and is growing at a fast rate. Housing prices are pretty reasonable and youre less than an hour from phoenix or tucson. But it does get quiet without alot of nightlife. Overall, I wouldn't mind returning there; it seemed like a good place to raise kids. Don't know much about the hospital there, sorry.

I'm not a nurse yet so I can't comment on pay, but my in-laws and a friend live in Casa Grande. They both like it there, but I think it's a bit too far out for me. It's about a 30 minute drive from Chandler, and an hour or so from Phoenix (with no traffic) .

Here is my take.

I grew up in small town Oregon and moved to Phoenix ten years ago. I love the big city. As my kids get older, we needed a safer area. We moved to Arizona City, right outside Casa Grande, two years ago, and I have never been happier. I still travel to Phoenix alot. Casa Grande is growing very fast and we do not have to drive to Phoenix as much. I really love this area, and have no intentions on moving anytime soon.

The hospital here in Casa Grande, I have only done clinicals at for Nurse Assistant, but it was a great place. I am now volunteering there.

I lived in Casa Grande all through high school (it was much smaller back then) and loved it. After I got married we lived in Arizona City for 7 years and loved it there as well. My parents and sister (with her family & in-laws) all live in Casa Grande and they love it. I volunteer there at a hospice and will probably be working there even though I live near Florence/Queen Creek.

Anyway, it's a great town - they have a TON of new stuff so you don't have to drive to Phoenix to do anything.

I did have a friend that worked at the hospital several years ago and loved it there. HTH

I bought a house here in 2006 and LOVE it, it's only 30 mts from Chandler and CHW hosp, there are several hosps and other facilities in the plans for around here, there is a BIG demand for quality healthcare as the local CG Regional hosp is a Dump; they've only survived this long b/c there has been no competition.

Last wk they were rated the 3rd worst hosp in the state, so just watch the competition jump on that! Anyway there are lots of slow moving Buicks around here in the winter months, if ya know what I mean, which fills the hosps too, so come on down!
