Anyone else apply to CEP this week?

U.S.A. Arizona

hi,

just wanted to see if anyone else has applied or will be applying to the cep program this week?? it would be nice to have others to "wait in anticipation" with. i haven't seen much talk on here about the cep program, is everyone just waiting out the associates for maricopa instead?? i just couldn't imagine having to wait 4-5 semesters to get in.......

i am applying at mcc/nau today at 1pm.

hope to hear from you all!

Good luck! I am planning on applying for the cep as well but have a few more classes to finish up first! The Website for MCCCD nursing now says that the expected wait for associate degree seeking students is 7-8 semesters due to spots going to CEP. I have 2 small children so waiting works for me but not that long! Lol well good luck again.

I applied on Wednesday for GCC/NAU. Good luck to you!

Thanks for responding I feel like the AZ Nursing program forum is kinda dead sometimes! lol I am sure you will get in. GL to you as well!

Wow 7-8 semesters ! I can't imagine waiting that long, so you are wanting to do the CEP then? It is a really good idea because the way the trend is right now, it may be harder to find a job with an Associates! GL to you!

Does anyone know if the CEP program is competitive? Or is it if you meet the requirements you get in if their is space, like with the MCCCD program? Thanks!

The CEP program is competitive. You have to have a certain GPA and have all the requirements done before you can apply. I suggest you check out the information on the website and attend an information session to learn more about it. If you are already signed up on the Maricopa Nursing queue, you can sign up for an information session on the website where you check your status.

If your grades are good and your HESI is above 90% you have a good chance of getting in...but as time passes, more and more people will be applying and I expect it will be even more competitive than it is now.

Thanks! I am taking the Hesi in a couple of weeks and already have everything else done for both programs. Look forward to going to the NAU info session soon.Do you happen to know if once you apply to the the regular program how long it is before you can got to the info session for the CEP program or do you just have to have all the prereq's done?Mixed answers from the advisors lately. Thanks!

when you give in your application for the maricopa nursing, it takes a day or so and they enter you in the system. once you are in the system you can go here https://hceweb.maricopa.edu/cfide/docs/hcies/studentstatus/index.cfm

and then just put in your student id# and you will see the opportunity to register for an info session on the main page. once you attend the info session they will open up the "application" sessions and then you have to register for that.

hope that helps! best of luck on the hesi! i took it a 2nd time recently improve my score and it was definitely worth it! :lol2:

i completely agree with that, i think as time goes by and the program is no longer considered "new" it will become more competitive. i was wondering why nau took away the requirement for the 2 recommendation letters??? maybe it made it harder for them to choose candidates??

Thanks for the information! I will keep my fingers crossed on the Hesi!

I'm not sure why they took away the two letters of recommendations requirement. I had them ready, but they never asked for them. Oh well, I have the letters if they want them later! The next three days or more are going to be tough...waiting to hear if we got in!
