Georgia agency recommendations?

I am seriously considering applying to agencies for work but am at a loss as to which agencies are the best/easiest/most consistent to work with. I will tell you, YEARS ago I signed up with NurseFinders in Florida and never ONCE received anything past the orientation day so that put me off a little bit but, for a variety of reasons, I'd like to see if I can make it work.

Any advice of anyone? Recommendations?

I work for a company called Pediatria, they are based out of GA. I like them, they seem pretty decent corporate wise. I work like crazy for the branch here in pa.

I worked with three agencies in the Atlanta, GA area(2006-2007), TPN(Total Professional Nursing), filling facility staffing needs, ParaQuad Services, working in adult home care and ICF MR/DD programs and PSA(Pediatric Services of America), providing pediatric nursing care in school classrooms. I was able to work consistently and between the different agencies, often had more work than I could accept. A very real concern for me(and the reason I moved from the area) was that pay rates were considerably low at that time. I have also found GA pay rates very low. I would like to move after I get my np to a state that is not so restricted.

Hi,

I worked at a Nursing Agency and did the staffing for the middle GA area. Healthcare Staffing is my favorite. They have contracts with ORMC in Milledgeville, GA, Regency LTACH in Macon and Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, GA. Private Message me and I can get you the contact info. My second favorite would be All About Staffing. They have a lot of contracts in both the Macon area as well as in the USA, but their process is lengthy. The pay is definitely less in Georgia, but there is room for negotiation in most cases.

I am currently look to move my family to Atlanta, from NJ, but the RN salary is too low. I was offered a position at Northside Hosp,but they refuse to negotiate. Anyway, Does anyone know good travel/staffing agencies in ATL??? That offer good salaries?

The salaries that the agencies offer are often in line w/what the PRN rates are at the hospitals in Ga. Atleast that's what I have found. Wages are notoriously low in this state and hospitals are not going to work w/the majority of nurses on the salary given the market here is saturated w/nurses and grads needing job. There are a few hospitals in the Atlanta area that offer incentives for nurses w/lots of experience or certain credentials but by and large..unless you hit management or work PRN at a few places, you won't get a lot of money working in Ga. as a nurse. I was shocked when I relocated back here in 2006 and the wages in many places were vitually the same as when I left in the early 90's. Good luck.

Wow! That's very disappointing. Do you know the salary for most agencies? I have 5yrs experience and PRN at Northside was only paying 27.50 :\

MOST TRAVEL COMPANIES ARE GOING WITH HOSPITAL OFFERINGS WHICH i FIND IS WHAT THE REGULAR STAFF WOULD GET ( WAGE AND BENEFITS) WHERE i MAKE A LITTLE MORE IS TAKE THE TAX-FREE STIPENDS( HOUSING AND COST OF LIVING) AND LIVE IN EXTENDED STAY FACILITIES OR GET A MOTOR HOME. NOT IDEAL DEPENDING ON WHERE OR WHAT YOU CHOSE BUT OK MOST OF THE TIME

Premier Healthcare Professionals is based out of Atlanta, and they claim to have the most jobs available in Georgia for travel nurses as that is their primary area of focus. I've done travel work with them and it was good.
