17 yr old hep b vaccine and titers....still around?

Published

i'm starting a program and they want a test to show positive for my hep b titers.

i had the full 3 shot series 17 years ago, and about 8 months ago i got part 1 & 2.

i should show positive for them now that i just boosted them up, right?

thanks!

I has them 22 years ago and I for the titer drawn and was non reactive. Here I am again getting the whole series. Smh

My school does not require Hep-b but they highly recommend it. Needless to say, I started the 6 month long  process and got my first Hep-b shot last week.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I had mine 14 years before the titers, which came back too low, so I had to do the whole series again.

Well, I ended up starting them on Friday! Just a note I thought I'd mention...I found on the CDC website an adult immunization schedule AND it turns out next to HEP B series there is a #12 as a footnote and in that footnote it states: 1st shot, 2cd shot one month later and 3rd shot no less then 4 months after 1st shot. So I printed it out and will give to school/work with my shot paperwork. Who can argue with the CDC, right! :lol2: I hope this helps put others like me, feel a little less stressed before school starts!
