  1. Thanks for the Anatomy Arcade....wicked cool!
  2. Rainbow dash...I can honestly say it is way easier preforming pt.care on a stranger than family. I have been a cna for 20 yrs. and I would feel more awkward doing ADL's with family.Don't get me wrong though, I would be the first one there to take care of a family member if need be! All I can say is....PERI care!!! That to me would feel weird! Just talk to pt./resident , even if they're not able to communicate with you, it'll make them and you feel more comfortable in an embarrassing situation:uhoh21:
  3. Congrats on completing your first week:yelclap:. I start on Tuesday, and can't believe it's finally here!! I just realized that it was this time last year that i was starting to study for the TEAS. It was ALL worth it though.
  4. It is Kaplin/Elson 3rd edition. I do have to say that I miss quoted a bit! There is a separate book for Anatomy and Physiology but they were EACH $11 and change. The good thing about 'em is they parallel my A&P text book. Hope this helps:rolleyes:
  5. I bought it a month ago on Amazon, and find it a big help. It was only $11.00.
  6. Textbooks.com when I was looking last month, I came upon this site. They have different prices from different places and alot qualify for free shipping! Good Luck

  8. Hi everyone, I start a 10 mnth LPN program Aug. 28th. We had orientation in June and got our booklist then. I can not get over there are some schools mentioned that you don't get your booklists until school starts THATS CRAZY! With all that said...We got emails last week saying we should read first two Ch. in the following books. A&P, Fundamentals of Nursing and Nursing leadership before school begins. I will also say that I flipped through ALL 19 books and I'm excited and a little overwhelmed! Congrats to all in the same boat and Thankfully we have this website and each other:yeah:
  9. You can AHA certify at your local fire dept usually for free too! At least in my town and surrounding towns...hope this helps anyone needing to do cpr:yelclap:
  10. Well, I ended up starting them on Friday! Just a note I thought I'd mention...I found on the CDC website an adult immunization schedule AND it turns out next to HEP B series there is a #12 as a footnote and in that footnote it states: 1st shot, 2cd shot one month later and 3rd shot no less then 4 months after 1st shot. So I printed it out and will give to school/work with my shot paperwork. Who can argue with the CDC, right! I hope this helps put others like me, feel a little less stressed before school starts!
  11. I stated earlier that I had my titers done for school, and ALL my Hep b came back non-reactive...needless to say I'm freakin' out. My job is saying they'll give me them but I don't have enough time for all three. Of course school is closed today so I can't call and my doctors office told me they won't go over my results until my physical which isn't for a few weeks! I don't know what to do!!
  12. Get the latest edition of the TEAS of their website! It's never to early to start reviewing. Good luck!
  13. Hello everyone, Just wanted to put it out there! I had a goal for myself too! Career by the time I was 20 and i did it. I have been a cna for 20 yrs. My next goal was to be a nurse by the time I was 40! Well needless to say I start lpn school at the end of Aug. this yr. and ( cough) I will be turning 40 this Nov....I believe that's Goal almost complete:yelclap:. To everyone on this thread, keep up the great work! Knowing that we are all in this together, will be my inspiration.
  14. i was also worrying about my hep titers. i had my hep b series 20 yrs ago, and have always gotten different answers to the question, do they wear off? i had mine all drawn last week and asked the lab girl. she said that i should still have antibodies present but i will probably need a hep booster. which is a big relief !
  15. I was also accepted for the 2012-2013 class! YEAH
