  1. Thanks I think I will record the lectures if we are able!! I can't wait to get back but I do appreciate our summer break!! good luck to all
  2. Do you just have two semesters? I start back in September as well. We don't have a list of our books yet and I would love to start reading.. Good luck to you
  3. I made it through my first year. I am so happy. Cannot wait to start my second year! Everyone is saying Pharmacology is going to be extremely difficult.. Does anyone have any studying tips ?
  4. I started in Sept but since my program is only avail half time, I am looking at at least another year. I attend a Boces program in NY. I don't have a background in the medical field my line of work before this was in Human Resources! Lol I wish there was a shorter route but I must complete this before starting an RN program. I have never taken any College courses online so I don't know if I would be that disciplined either! Lol however I assumed there wouldn't be a long waiting list for the ADN or BSN like there are at the schools itself! I guess I need to research this a bit more
  5. I am currently a student as well. I am a single mom and also an adult learner Like you I want further my education. However I am taking it one step at a time. Have you looked at any Bridge programs in your area ? You may even be able to do an online course. You can work as an LPN and continue with courses online. Best of luck on your journey to becoming a nurse. :)
  6. I am currently a student in an LPN program. I started in Sept. it is a 2 year program. I am a single mom. It is definitely a challenge to balance home, school work, studying and parenting but it is certainly something you can do. I love that I made the decision to go back to school. Stay focused. If this is something you want go for it!! Best of luck..
  7. I am excited now!! Thanks so much for all the information. I will keep you posted :)
  8. Wow! Thanks for all the info I greatly appreciate it :) When you say you do not leave your stuff around because it is not safe, are you talking about people stealing?? Oh boy... Like the staff?? We haven't done any BP yet.. Do you guys learn that there?? We didn't get to that yet in class!! I was kind of figuring it would be a lot of CNA work in the first half because we are learning about bed bathes and bed making etc... I am a bit nervous but excited to learn, I am not a CNA and have never worked in the medical field before... Good luck to everyone on their nursing journey...
  9. Oh ok.. I will bring my books too. I didn't get a clipboard yet so I will shop for one this weekend... Thanks so much.. BTW Do you like clinicals is it really difficult?
  10. I would say the fact that I have been dreaming of studying to become a nurse for quite some time. However life happens and sometimes we may just have to wait for the right time in our lives to pursue our goals. I love the fact that I am in school and on my journey with my fellow students. We are all aspiring to be nurses and taking the steps to attain our goals!! Good luck to all....
  11. I start my clinicals on Nov 6th. I am extremely anxious!! I will be doing clinicals once a week starting in Nov. Can anyone tell me what they are like? What I can expect?? Also any tips on what you can put and should put in your clinical bag??
  12. Congrats to all the new LPN students on here. I started my Boces program on Wed and we watched a video went over some medical terminology etc and then we were tested on it the following day! Lol Our orientation was in Aug and we went over the student handbook and signed a lot of papers. So far so good. I am still waiting for my books to arrive but one of my classmates was nice enough to let me look on with him the past 2 days...
  13. Good luck to everyone!! I start tomorrow!! I am a bit nervous but I can't wait! A little worried because I dont have my books yet but there isn't much I can do about that now!! Please post and let us all know how your first day was
  14. Starting Sept 5th Upstate NY Boces. Extremely anxious!! Cannot wait to get started
