  1. We used that book and I HIGHLY recommend it. It breakes down the function of each electrolyte and what s/sx come with each when a patient is hypo/hyper, etc. It also puts everything in terms that were more understandable, at least to me.
  2. Our uniforms are alll white. White tops/bottoms/shoes. Personally, I'm not a fan but it is what it is. I just try really hard to not spill coffee on myself before clinical in the morning.
  3. Hi ttcomom4! I think whether or not it's difficult getting accepted depends on how well you do on the entry exam. There were a ton of applicants. I think it was 200 + people that took the exam, then if you score in a high enough percentile, you score an interview. The exam consists of math/english/chemistry and if you haven't been to school in a while, they offer a review class. I'm not sure what would make it worth it to drop the $85. There's definety no guarantee you'll be accepted into the program. I think it's pretty much like every nursing program, it's competitive. But if you're a qualified applicant and it's what you want to do then go for it!

  5. Hi chriscrow! We kind of got financial aid info....she still wasn't helpful. Apparently they aren't even looking at any of our class' stuff until July 1st. The only info Rose gave is the same stuff that we got in our packets.
  6. I hope so! I've already taken A&P I & II and I'm taking Nutrition now....hopefully that will lighten the financial load, but they might still charge the $$ and we wouldn't ave to re-take those classes. Either way, I'm just so excited to start!
  7. Hi Christine! I took the test in November & had my interview in December...they sent me a large envelope that has all the info in it (financial aid/tuition/orientation) I hope you hear something soon! Have you applied anywhere else?
  8. Congrats!!! Does everyone have the same orientation in June?
  9. Yes, there's a girl from my Microbiology class that did the LPN program 2 years ago and is about to enter CCCC's LPN to RN program. She said the LPN program was good, the instructors were great, but the program is hard since it is a lot of information for only 10 months. It's pretty intense but she said it was totally worth it. She passed her NCLEX the first time she took it and found a job pretty quickly too. I'm so excited to just start a program!
  10. Yay! I'm waiting to hear back from CCCC's RN program, but they don't send it out until the end of April so I'll have to put the deposit down on the LPN program either way. We're living in Plymouth, but I'm originally from NY. My husbamd is in the Coast Guard and we were transferred here last year. Where are you from? And good luck with the BCC RN program!
  11. Hi Everyone! Is anyone else going into the 2011-2012 LPN program at Upper Cape Tech?? I just recieved my acceptence today! Also...does anyone have any advice for someone entering an LPN program?(Besides lots of studying) Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated.
