My friend, a hospital RN says that morale at their hospital is at an all time low. Raises are based on patient satisfaction scores. They have some mandatory training coming up that I think he said was called You're On Stage. Has anyone had this training and if so, what is it? More scripting? More customer satisfaction bull****? Benefits were cut and they have mandatory overtime. It's a non union place.
okchug I thought the same thing -except it reminds me of Blockbuster Video stores. Every time I walked in some young worker would shout, "Hi welcome to Blockbuster!" It always jarred me and they would rarely ever be looking at me.
Every Blockbuster around me is gone. Are they bankrupted completely yet?
Hmmmmmmmm....
Here's a thought: how about actually staffing so that nurses DO have the time? I worked at a facility with 4:1 ratios for awhile. It was wonderful 99% of the time. Great CNA ratios, adequate staffing of charge nurses and unit secretaries. It was like utopia. I was heartbroken when we moved. I think the majority of nurses WANT to take great care of patients, but must simply be at the mercy of administration's latest incarnation of "The Emperor's New Clothes."
