Hi! Greetings of Peace to all of you! I would like to ask the Filipinos who have already taken the nclex-rn exams and those who have valid, reliable&verifiable info on the latest travel and accommodation perks, what is the cheapest way to get the exams? By saying the cheapest way, I am referring to what is the best method to save on the travel and accommodation?
What airline company offers the lowest rate for trip to HK? How much is the cheapest offer available at present? future(and when)?
What is the nearest hotel to the exam site? The second nearest? 3rd? 4th? 5th? 6th? 7th? 8th? 9th? 10th? Please explain how far/near are these hotels from the test site?
How much do these nearby hotels costs?
What is the best hotel that offers the best value for your money with reference to distance to the test site and price of accommodation/fee for accommodation?
Are there travel agencies in manila and bacolod that can offer airfare, accommodation for a packaged/discounted rate? How much am I going to pay? How long is the stay? If the venue/accommodation where they would place me is far from the test site, will they offer free travel service to the test site?
What agency in manila and bacolod offers the best rate and value(services)at present?
Please help me. Thanks.

i've heard that others were satisfied using cebupacificair.com fun tour hk package for nurses. everything you need to know is in their website or you can email them or visit their office near you for more info. the hotel recommended by some is south pacific hotel. there's a free shuttle service from hotel to test center.
not in the list of hotels of cebupacificair.com are central park hotel and the newest one which is lan kwai fong hotel which others said are the two nearest to the test center. 5-10 minutes walking distance. search for the hotels' websites or click http://www.asiatravel.com/hongkong.html but you need to arrange for your airline ticket, airport transfers, etc...or you can have this taken cared of by a travel agency of your choice. check the phone directory for reliable travel agencies near you.
you can compare the options in terms of total cost and of travel arrangements for a safe and worry-free travel for your purpose.

www.cebupacificair.com check it out. they are offering low fares all year round..

according to a map, central park hotel is the nearest hotel to the testing center..
but if you know someone who live in Hongkong( a relative or a friend), it's better..coz you can save money... instead of checking in to a hotel...

Thanks kiko88! You have been very helpful! okey I will check on these packages/hotels and the cebu pacific rates/promos.
Thanks for the website of the hotels in hk, and for providing me info on the 2 nearest hotels, and the recommendation by others.
it's good that with these infos, i may be able to find the best value for money in terms of rate/expenditure of hotel and airfare plus land travels , food, room comfort/quality, distance to the exam site, hassles for arrangements on other things needed like transfers/shuttle/vehicle service to test site, etc...
once again, i thank you for a very helpful information.

hmmm, where did you see this map? is there a map with the nclex-rn testing center and the nearby hotels?
where can i download this map?
central park is too expensive for me...hehehe...
Thanks to the ones who have provided me info, kiko88 and kathykaye!
Hmmm, I'm planning on how much money will be needed for my stay in hk for the exams...so I'll proceed with some more questions:
How are the food prices in HK?
will i encounter other expenses other than food?
how much money is needed for a 3 days 2 nights stay or 4 days 3 nights stay in hk as with regards to hk life expenses?
what are the types of food available there?
For other personal needs like groceries, hygiene stuff, etc. how much is needed for the duration of my stay there in hk?
how are the people there? can they speak in english?
how is the temperature in hk? what are their temperature ranges(hottest to lowest) and please provide me info on the conditions especially on the last quarter?
is it advisable to book by the end of the quarter or just early next year? which is cheaper?
By the way, as with the nclex-rn test, can I just get the test anytime after I get my ATT or do I have to synchronize everything(hotels and airplane booking)?
when(time and days of the week)is the exam usually given?
how many can be accommodated in a day?
thanks.

i found a map of hongkong here in our house.. maybe my sister bought it in a bookstore..lol
ATT has a validity period.. from 90 days- 1 year..validity period of att depends on each state..u should schedule an appointment for the nclex rn exam by calling the NCLEX candidate services (because HK is an international testing site)... the test is administered 6days a week. my friend told me that there are about 10 cubicles in the HK testing site.. goodluck:D god bless..

the hotel will ask for this deposit, or your credit card, when you check in to the hotel. some people who went there on a very tight budget had problems with this.
however, my friend who went there a couple weeks before me had some gi problems after eating the local food...had some difficulty taking the nclex with a bum stomach...so i stuck with mcdonald's.
i saw a pizza hut in kowloon.

Thanks kathykaye!:nuke:
Do you also know of a more specific map(s) which should be used when I'd go to HK to take the nclex exam?
I got an eligibility letter from CA, I think I'd have it processed for ATT next, hehehe...I see, really? So do mean I can't do it online? But Suzanne advised me to do it by mail(when accuracy is at stake and I'd have to let another person do it for me, because I don't have credit card)...A friend of mine/classmate of mine in a review class who also got his eligility from CA, and now has ATT told me that I can apply online(he had a relative do it for him), scheduling would come after ATT and that is what you meant I suppose, right?
I see, so that would be from monday to saturday right?
When I get scheduled, will the schedule be final? I'm asking these questions so that I can carefully plan my travel and time allowance there.
I see, so 10 examinees at a time in HK...Thank you very much kathykaye...May God bless you!
one important thing: bring hk$500 extra with you.the hotel will ask for this deposit, or your credit card, when you check in to the hotel. some people who went there on a very tight budget had problems with this.i saw mostly chinese food, there's a fast food joint there, fair wood i think. try their milk tea (nai cha).however, my friend who went there a couple weeks before me had some gi problems after eating the local food...had some difficulty taking the nclex with a bum stomach...so i stuck with mcdonald's. i saw a pizza hut in kowloon.there are lots of watson's & 7-11's there.mostly nicer now, and most can speak english. or at least understand.very hot at this time of year.

thank you very much pinoy-guy!:nuke:
i appreciate your point by point answer to my queries, it is very helpful and clear...:nuke: thank you very much for making an effort in answering my queries systematically, hehe, i prefer this method also, whenever i get to answer questions, hehe, but sometimes, when i'm low on time allowance, i tend to encapsulate all at ones(which is disadvantageous at times because some details might get overlooked/missed)...
wow, another 500 hk dollars? indeed, i'm on a tight budget myself, hehe, how about if you pay the hotel fees in advance? is deposit still required?
chinese food is okey with me(supposing it is similar to chinese restaurants here in the philippines)...i see, is fair wood near the exam site? where is it located? hehe, i hope their nai cha/milk tea is not as bitter as chowking's...hehehe...
i see, thank you for giving me precautions in advance; so local foods there might not be healthy...hmmm, or perhaps just because our stomach got new food?
mcdo and pizzahut would do me fine, hehe, especially pizzahut for a heavy meal...but how much do they charge food and drinks there? how does it compare to our rates here?
i see, so watson's is already international...and so is 7-11...but how are the prices in these shops there as compared to our rates here?
i see, that is good to hear, i hope they are helpful as well...i see, okey, so communication won't be much of a problem there...yeah, i remember, hk used to be a british colony right?
i see, really?! how hot? how does it compare to philippine heat nowadays? even at the last quarter(i'm planning to get my nclex somewhere around this time)? so jackets are least likely to be used? do they not have winter there? is it also raining there often?
any other things that must be known or brought at hk for the nclex test?
thank you very much...
