Your opinion on stethoscope please

Published

I've never posted on here before, so I'm sorry if this isn't the correct place to ask this.

I would like anyone's opinion. I would like to buy my wife a new stethoscope. A very brief background is she's had a hard life before I married her (divorced with a child with medical bills and an ex-husband's debt) and could never afford a stethoscope. She's 44 and graduated with an A.S. as a nurse after high school. She was checking my blood pressure one day and I asked her about her stethoscope. She told me it was a hand-me-down from nursing school. She had an inexpensive new one once when she was new on the floor, but a doctor borrowed hers and never returned it. A previous hospice case manager, she now helps children with health issues at their homes.

From what I can read, a Littmann Cardiology III seems like a very nice stethoscope. Does anyone have any complaints? I want to have the chest piece inscribed with her name, with a Littmann inscribed name tag.

Also, as a guy, I think the black one with the brass metal parts looks very sharp, with a separate black leather holder. But, maybe a raspberry-colored one would look better to a woman with a purple leather holder?

Your opinion would be appreciated, especially you ladies where color is concerned. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Awe, so sweet.

I am sure she will love any color you choose, but since she works with children maybe something more colorful and cheerful would be appropriate? You know her style better than us but I think this is a very thoughtful gift and she will LOVE it. :)

I like my Littmann cardiology stethoscope and mine is purple. Reason being if a different colour more easy to keep track off

I have a classic II se in Caribbean blue with a rainbow head - very colorful and not as expensive, but I can hear very clearly out of it (and I'm hard of hearing)...

Might be better with a Littmann Pediatric scope. Although the Cardiology III does have the pediatric side and the adult side.

I have a Littmann Cardiology III and I LOVE mine! I have it in plum. I'm sure your wife will be happy with any color choice!
