Most places do not give references anymore due to high rate of lawsuits years ago. Usually they will just verify employment and length there. Now if you had a bad personnal reference, that would make more sence. Maybe u gave a nurses name from the place? I would call and ask ,u have a right to know. Do not let it keep u back, one bad experience will not follow u. Good luck!
If I left a job before orientation was even finished I would not mention it would only be viewed negatively by a potential employee, I had a very bad experience once, ( after 10yrs) I left within two months, the nurse manager wanted me to stay and so did the dept head but one of the few top brass md's I was working under and I clashed ( he needed a yes girl)NOT ME !!! Not when what I was doing was unsafe and out of my scope of practice, anyway, i've never included it on my resume

Be very careful when you take your first job out of nursing school and make sure they have a good orientation program. I just went through a nughtmare and quit before orientation even finished. I went for another job and was hired but before I could even start, they called and said they been retracting their job offer because of a bad reference. I never even went out on the floor as a nurse and I recieved a bad reference.... lots of internal crap going on. I got out because I could see if I stayed I'd pobably lose my license. What can you do... Do you have to even mention a job even if you left before orientation ended?
