Young and Single! Should I move here?

Published

Hi all! I don't graduate until 2007 but why not start looking for a new place to live now? I'll be 21 going on 22 when I graduate and have no kids (let's hope it stays that way lol). I know Texas is a big state but where would you advise me to live?

i live in college station and love it. lots of parks, big enough for 24 hr stores, but small town feel

and a large university so quite a 'night life'/date life for a young 20 something professional.

plus, two large hospitals that compete with each other so competitive salaries.

Austin is a great city. Wonderful for a single person with lots to do and lots of opportunities. It is often listed as one of the coolest cities in the nation!

Houston and Dallas/ Fort Worth are also great cities.

I live just south of the DFW area. I have lived all my life here and know nothing else. Joshua used to be a town that had 600 or so people and you knew everyone and everyone knew you. But know it is getting bigger by the day and highways and buisness are moving in... so IM MOVING OUT!!!!! I want to go to the hill country where the cities are smaller and they roll up the streets at 6pm. I want a farm ,garden and a wrap around porch. If you are looking for a more laid back atmoshpere maybe the hill country, but if you are looking for a more happening town Austin or Ft worth is great. I like Houston to visit but not to live ..way to congested for me. West Texas to me is flat and hot. I love East Texas, OMG it is beautiful like around Henderson , Rusk or Jacksonville. The only problem is the pay is lower in East Texas. I have been living in the country and driving 30 miles in to Ft Worth for work and what not. Anther place I love is the Stephenville area that is about 80 miles SW of Ft Worth, the drive from my house down there is very scenic ,quite and uncomplicated. Good luck on whatever you decide and WELCOME TO TEXAS!!!!!!
