I was just hired today to work part-time in hospice. I am so happy. Now instead of working LTC full-time I will just work LTC on a prn basis. Thank you GOD!!!! :balloons:

unit hospice a month ago. I worked in the hospital setting for the last 15 years
and this is the best career move I have ever made. I feel in the hospice setting
you can be a real nurse. Can spend more time with your patients and thier
families. Good luck with your new career

Thanks Frisky. I am so use to having to rush all the time and never having any real "quality time" with a patient. I am hoping I will now have time to be a "real nurse" once in a while. :)

Congratulations!! I got a call back yesterday (2-11) on my resume I sent to my local IPU for a Hospice/Pallative Nurse position....so I am hoping very soon to be among the H&P nurses as well. I can understand the need for change, after 17 years of Hospital and traveling nursing, I am so ready for a nice change of pace.
