Hey all! I am done with my first week of classroom orientation for my first job out of NS! I got a position in the float pool in Neurosurgical ICU of a level 1 trauma center near me. Expect a lot of questions from me. Lol!! Can't wait to start on the floor but I know I have a lot to learn still. I am a sponge right now! :-) I couldn't ask for a better position with a good system!
I'll stop my rambling now!
Peace and blessings.

Congrats!! Do not lose that passion!!! Do not be afraid to ask a lot of questions. Keep learning. I am excited for you.
Thank you very much! I already took a tour of the unit and it's very busy! Actually, my first day on the unit is on Wednesday!

Congrats! I started as a new grad in a surgical/trauma ICU about 15 months ago. You'll be amazed with how much you're going to learn. The one thing I wish someone had told me before I started... expect to feel overwhelmed sometimes. It's okay! Just make sure you let someone know. Take full advantage of working with a preceptor and if you aren't 110% sure about something, always ask before you do it. Never be afraid to ask a question, no matter how silly it sounds - the ones we worry about are those that don't ask enough. Good luck!
