Hi everyone, I graduated in May and am working in LTC for now, I plan to apply at the hospital after the summer is over, but I have a lot going on this month (bought a house and I'm getting married!) So I thought I'd stay somewhere that I knew everyone and how things were ran. I have plenty of stress already:)
Yeah-we do have a home now don't we!! Thanks a bunch Allnurses, we needed this.
gerrihorse-definately take things one day at a time.
Holli-where did you go to school in Texas? Did I see somewhere that you are from the DFW area?
Have a great day and looking forward to getting to know you all through this forum.
Hi Holli-
I took a position on a MS unit about 40 miles east of Dallas. Very small rural hosp. not to far from Canton (First Monday Trades Days) actually the home of Jamie Foxx. I am almost certain you have heard of that if not gone a zillion times!! I graduated in May from Trinity Valley Community College in Kaufman. Supposed to be one of the tougher NS in my neck of the woods. I live about 15 miles away from Canton.
Nice to meet someone who is halfway close to where I live. Have you found any good scrub shops in the DFW area? I have had the hardest time finding a good one. Will you be working for Childrens or Scottish Right? Have several class mates that went to Childrens-one I think is in the Trauma unit or ED.
Nice to meet you.
Hi there!
I did my psych rotation at Terrell in January and met some TV students!
Are you out near Tyler? I have lots of family in East Texas, and I have lived in DFW my whole life, so I am very familiar with the area, and Canton. I have spent a lot of time at the hospital there in Tyler, years ago, with family members.
I will be working at Cook's in Ft Worth. I actually live just south of Denton on I-35W, so it is closer. But I would work at Cook's even if I lived next door to Children's. I did do an externship at Children's, though. My daughter has been treated at both facilities and we all LOVE Cook's! It was the only place I ever wanted to work! I did attend a conference at Scottish Rite, and it seems like an amazing facility!
Good to "talk" to you!
