:monkeydance: congrats to you!!! i'm a month into my 1st job as a cna...boy is it hard work! but i wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!! the first week i was shadowing and helping out a senior aide with his residents. but then i was out on my own...a little scary, but exciting at the same time. i work in a nursing home, and will probably move on to a hospital once i get enough experience under my belt....just curious to see the different areas of healthcare. i wish you much luck and success!!

I'm soo happy for you! I sounds like this is a great environment for first cna job! Please keep us informed on how it's all going!

Specializes in ICU, ER, Hemodialysis.

Congrats!!!!! It's great to hear everything worked out for you!

Hello couldntbehappier: I am very happy for you for getting the job I wish you lots of luck! I'm also a brand new CNA and recently put out some job applications in places, I was wondering how long did it take you to get a response from the nursing home.

Thanks for all the well-wishes, Everybody!

Agapita: I acutally got hired on at the facility at which I took my CNA class. They let us put in our application about a week before class was over, there was a hiring freeze, the freeze was lifted & I got a call from them about a week or two after I passed the written & clinical state exam. Now, I'm going through my health screen & next week I'll have NEO. Not quite sure when I'll be starting, starting, yet - BEST OF LUCK TO YOU! Keep us posted - I'm anxious to hear how things are going for you, as well. =)

Congrat's to you and wish you well !!!!:lol2:

HI! everyone I'm happy to say I got a call from a LTC and it looks very good for me. I was so nervous when I went in for the interview, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm now waiting for them to get back at me sometime next week. I really want to work in the field allready, but I'm also afraid of what would it be like on my first day.
