Yale University GEPN 2024

Updated:   Published

Hello allnurses community!

This thread is for those applying to Yale's GEPN (Graduate Entry Prespecialty in Nursing) Program for the Fall 2024 start.

It might be a little early as deadlines haven't been announced yet, but given all of the questions that many of us might already have, one can never be too early!

Good luck to everyone!

Just here to ask an opinion of those in this thread. So I already got accepted to Emory's Master of nursing program but I'm still somewhat considering Yale. Assuming I get into Yale I don't know how to decide. Pros of Emory are that it's in my hometown where my family is, it's bigger cohort size which I like, it's the number one masters program in the country. Cons are that I don't know how much aid I'll get and it's very expensive. Pros of Yale are that it's a direct to NP Program with the option to work as an RN in the middle, scholarship options are higher but cons are it would require me moving up north and I am a terrible driver and can't handle snow, rent is very expensive there, and I would have to make my boyfriend uproot his life so he could move with me. How do I decide!

I would just wait to hear back from Yale. I was told by the director that we should hear back before December. If you have to hold your seat, I would just pay the deposit and just wait. I hope this helps :)!

Do you happen to know the cohort size for Yale?

Flower.1 - Yale said we should hear back before December? I always thought it was mid/late-December that decisions were sent out?

I meant we should hear back before Christmas not December sorry!

no worries! LOL just wasn't sure if something had changed.

LOL, yeah I wish we could know before December.

same! the waiting is so hard

It is... it has been making me so nervous since I submitted my application. At least this will be the first school I will hear back from. The other program won't tell me anything until late January/February.

very true! and at least it's already submitted. what specialty did you apply to?

I applied to the FNP specialty.

Good luck!!
