Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Yale's GEPN program for the fall 2023 start.
Feel free to introduce yourself, ask questions and offer guidance and support to other candidates. Please be respectful and kind and remember that this is a long, exhausting, expensive, stressful journey for lots of people. Let's do our best to uplift and help each other. Good luck!
I'm mostly done with my essays, but am still finishing the short one on Personal Characteristics.
Anyone else feel like 600 words was WAY too little space to address all the questions for the main essay!?!? That was some brutal editing work. There's so much more I would like to tell them!
I don't think so, they didn't really comment on who they choose to interview.
Although they did mention that they prefer candidates that knew what they wanted to do, and preferred essays that reflected that persons' aspirations and goals of what they wanted to accomplish. (Ex. If you stated that you wanted to become a FNP, you would write about this, but some people apparently wrote about working in the pediatric field, why they wanted to work with kids, etc. so things that weren't quite relevant to the field they wanted to go in).
But this was more on terms of the essays, not necessarily who they choose for the interviews. I believe that they look at their applicants rather holistically, so it's a fair game for everyone!

Yes, Emory is the furthest from home, but as it was the #2 ranked program, I was very interested in it.

Me too!
How are you doing on your essays? I've been working at mine a little bit each day.
Best of luck to you!
