Yale GEPN 2021

Hey all! I am reapplying and wanted to create this for everyone applying. I won't be as involved as I was last year, but good luck to everyone! I know they're having seminars and allowing people to schedule one on one consultations for applications.

Congratulations to everyone that was admitted! Good luck to those that were waitlisted, my fingers are crossed for you. I put off checking today until a little while ago, as I already knew- I knew the day of my interview that I did not get in. We will all get there, just different ways. I am so glad that I applied to a few different schools. Tonight I will celebrate nonetheless, nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Hi. As promised, I just messaged you.

Congrats to everyone’s efforts. Personally the most important part is yet to come: the financial aid package. The most crucial part of it all (for me).

So I just had a financial aid award letter posted to my portal. It has two sections - need based aid, and federal direct loan. So according to this letter I got $0 in merit scholarships. I wasn't expecting much, but I thought everyone got a token $6k merit scholarship or something? Or, shouldn't it at least have a section for merit scholarship and it could have said "merit aid - 0."

Did you all get a letter posted too, and did anyone get any merit aid?

The acceptance letter earlier today said fin aid awards would come out "in a few days" which is why I'm hoping the merit stuff is separate from this. \

Meh, looking on last year's thread, I think this letter is it. So I guess I didn't get any scholarship at all. I must be confusing Yale and Vanderbilt, I think they give everyone at least a small merit scholarship?

I wasn't expecting much, so it's not a game changer, but still ?

I received aid. Is the 6 figure number on page 2 per YEAR?

It didn’t give me any aid numbers??? Where do y’all see that

Merit-based aid?

The GEPN year is the most expensive. Tuition is slightly lower the MSN years.

Mine had a table on the first page with two rows - one for need based aid, and one for federal loans, each with an amount. Both based on your FAFSA. No reference to merit based aid, whether the amount was 0 or not.

Where do you guys see the merit based scholarship

Mine didn't have any merit based scholarship. @wp650 did yours have a merit-based one? I got aid, but only in the form of federal loans.

mine did have merit aid, so I believe they sent those out as well, hopefully more to come!

  Congrats!

What page was the merit aid on

Same here, no mention of any merit aid....(I checked all 4 pages, it's no mentioned at all)

I have two lines on the first page:

first line, need based aid =0

and then on the line below, a Federal direct Loan unsubsidized section, with some money.
