Hey all! I am reapplying and wanted to create this for everyone applying. I won't be as involved as I was last year, but good luck to everyone! I know they're having seminars and allowing people to schedule one on one consultations for applications.

Does anyone know when this program is supposed to start?

 

I know it’s usually the fall but I think I saw somewhere this cohort would start in early Summer...

Starts August. But, unsure if it’s early August or late August. Definitely like to know. I was asked to go on a trip. Definitely would be a good thing to do before starting the program.

I believe it’s third-ish week August start but there’s orientation before that (which was remote last year - fingers crossed with the vaccine things will be mostly in person)

@secondtimer14 yes exactly! I prefer that it’s starting later in the year so we can hopefully avoid taking tough classes online ???

I have a question for current GEPN students on the thread - what time do classes generally start in the morning? I’m passing the time by being an optimist and looking into childcare options in New Haven (I’m not jinxing myself, I’m trying to be productive while I wait, I swear ?).

@secondtimer14 - go for it! You are saving yourself time by figuring it out now? While I don't have your optimism, I can't give up on myself either. Fingers crossed for everyone. May everyone end up in the best place for them!

Optimism is probably too strong a word. Where I’m from daycares take 6-12 months on the wait list to get a spot, so I’m trying to make a general plan for each place I’ve applied (I only applied three places). If you could see inside my head it’s a swirly mixture of hope, doubt, and pessimism, set against the jeopardy theme song ?)

Does anyone have insight into which day exactly we will hear back? From past threads, it appears Sunday could be a possibility. I’m going crazy waiting!

I am too! I'm somewhat relieved that I'm not the only one. 

I have also read the Sunday possibility, though I have it in my head that it will be Monday (wishful thinking?!). I'm just hoping it's not later than Monday!
