Hey all! I am reapplying and wanted to create this for everyone applying. I won't be as involved as I was last year, but good luck to everyone! I know they're having seminars and allowing people to schedule one on one consultations for applications.

It deeply saddens me to write this warning but if you are a prospective student of color, I would make sure you speak with other current and former students of color prior to accepting. It is a LOT of money to pay to be in an environment that is struggling the way YSN is right now.
It is disappointing to me that the same issues keep getting rehashed and readdressed at YSN. New students come in and there seems to be a lack of institutional memory. YSN has been aware of racism from preceptors and in the classroom for years.
Thank you for taking the time to write this. I am so incredibly disappointed to read it. I absolutely plan to reach out to students/alums of color if I'm admitted.

Thank you for your honesty in saying that they've been made aware before and have not done enough instead of making it seem like it's brand new. It saddens me that it is a cycle that hasn't been broken yet. I definitely would like to speak to alum/current students of color if admitted as well, just unsure of where to reach out and get honest responses

I’m guessing there’ll be a (virtual) admitted students day where we could connect with current students. Or you could always reach out to admissions asking to be put in contact with YSN’s black alliance group.
@secondtimer14 I think I'll do that and ask to be in touch with other cultural groups within YSN as well, thank you for the suggestion!
I am back and forth between excitement and nerves! @underqualified

Anxiety of having to tell your boss that you would potentially be leaving in less than a year to attend grad school at Yale > Anxiety waiting to hear back from Yale
Honestly, I'm not too worried as I don't love my job. Plus knowing they would quickly replace me if I had an emergency situation happened makes me not feel bad. I don't plan on saying anything, just gonna turn in my two weeks
