WSU BSN Fall 2012

U.S.A. Washington

Anyone else who applied to WSU for Fall 2012? I filed my application on time (Jan 15, 2012), and got my transcripts to NursingCAS by the Feb 1, 2012 deadline. I just checked and it looks like NursingCAS finally completed my GPA calculations. Does anyone else know what will happen next? I know we will get letters by March 20, 2012. But, it would be nice if WSU would communicate to at least let us know if they have received our applications.

Thank you guys, I wish we would have all gotten in. Even though we don't know each other I feel like we have bonded through this process. My overall gpa is a 3.75 and my pre-req gpa is a 3.8.

I don't think transcripts are the issue because when I contacted the WSU College of Nursing admissions adviser herself and asked about transcripts she said we didn't even need to send them in until we were accepted (like after Spring Quarter, if you're at EWU, like me). I think applying to WSU is sort of a formality and like someone earlier said, doesn't have a lot to do with getting into the actual nursing program because if you're getting into the program you have the grades to be at WSU general admissions. Haven't got my letter yet though! I feel as though I'll be waitlisted though with what everyone else is saying!

Plus, if it were a do or die thing to get your transcripts there at a certain time, I feel as though they would've specified it like they did when we originally applied-I remember there being a big bold section on the application that said if we didn't get our transcripts to the CAS we wouldn't be considered, etc.

Yeah getting accepted the WSU CON has nothing to do with being accepted to WSU, sending your transcripts to nursingCAS was all you needed for the nursing school, so WSU not receiving your transcripts doesn't affect being accepted to the CON.

Well... I am talking about the CAS transcripts! Apparently they have to upload the CAS transcripts to your application! If that doesn't happen then how do they accept you? I think that might be what missjohnson was saying when they said they lost her transcripts... But how could they lose it if it should have been coming from the CAS? Furthermore, didn't the paper said they couldn't send you an offer if you didn't get accepted into the University?

It said when we originally applied that if you didn't get your transcripts to CAS on time, you wouldn't even be considered for an interview. So if we made it to the interview, I assume we got everything done with CAS. As for WSU, they only gave us a few weeks to submit our application and be accepted from the time we got our interview letters and I applied as soon as I could, sent my transcripts as soon as I could, and when I called WSU to ask they said that they'd been receiving tons of applications and that it'd take some time. And honestly, I highly doubt that WSU CON would deny someone they thought would be an awesome candidate because of something like that-I mean, the interview was there for a reason. If it was all GPA and get your-stuff-in-on-time then we wouldn't have one right? Plus I don't think they'd be so unfair as to penalize someone because a transcript got misplaced-in fact, when I called to ask about the delay they mentioned that their transcript scanner had broken and so that there had been a delay with transcripts this time around.

Idk even about nursingCAS not getting them, I was worried about nursingCAS not getting mine and I called the college and they said not to worry about it because they can look up our transcripts themselves, but if you got an interview then that wouldn't be an issue anyway.

Mrgie is completely right! :)

You guys are right... At least that gives me some hope for tomorrow! You know, the people at this University is so amazing! I have never seen such a welcoming group of people like I've seen with the school of nursing staff at WSU! I hope they are able to sort everything out... Think we are all just overwhelmed! Mrgie guess we will find out what happens tomorrow! Luck for us :)

Yes, good luck to you too! Hope we both have big admissions packets waiting for us in the mail tomorrow :)

i am also on the wait-list, i dont know how many people they r going to place on the wait list. hopfuly i will get in to the program!!!

OMG, you guys were right! I got my acceptance packet and I couldn't believe it! I was walking to the mailbox fully expecting a denial or waitlist letter! I am so honored and humbled to be a part of such a great nursing school! They are so nice, I cannot wait! Sending good luck to my fellow aspiring nurses who have not gotten information back or on the waitlist!
