You know, I had that same feeling as well. When I was sure the answer was correct, a SATA sure did follow... Congrats!!!

Average Scores on Kaplan Question Trainers and Qbank and Passed NCLEX 1/18/2013
To respond to the previous posts, I think saying that Kaplan was harder than the NCLEX gives many readers a bit of false security. I want to encourage you all preparing for the NCLEX to do everything Kaplan says and understand that the NCLEX is different for everyone and very subjective. You absolutely need to do all the Qbanks and trainers and I highly recommend watching the videos. I took the NCLEX a few days ago and did all of these in addition to the 4 practice exams (I did not read the book, I would not have retained it). I got the good pop up so I am assuming I passed after 180 questions. However, it was no easy task. In the first 75 questions, I had about 15 meds which truly took me by surprise (most people I've read only got a few if any). Some of the med questions r/t the Exhibit and SATA'S. I want to say that I had about 30-40 SATAs in the 180 and a couple were not too bad, but most of them were pretty hard. So, DO NOT slack on your studies thinking that if you got Kaplan you got the NCLEX. I would say the NCLEX is about the same as Kaplan and perhaps slightly harder. Again, this is from my experience and remember yours too will be unique. I was getting 78% at the end of the Kaplan training and my results are below. Study Study... Diagnostic 56% Q1 - 57 Q2 - 63 Q3 - 66 Q4 - 57 Q5 - 55 Q6 - 60 Q7 - 55 Q-bank - 100% - 63% As you can see, super average scores. I did Q trainer 3 and 4 last hence why those scores got better after doing the other trainers (I know, backwards). So, if you have these scores you can rock NCLEX, I ranged from 48%-78% on the trainers. But I beg of you to have a realistic expectation to an exam that can be VERY challenging.

WSU Nursing Spring 2013
The fact that you are working as a caregiver a2012 is actually GREAT! You will have a much easier time going through the program. Most people with a CNA or LPN background find the experience to be so much more pleasant. I don't want to discourage you, I just want you to be aware of the real hard facts! It really is a difficult program, most people were surprised by that including myself. Just keep your Anatomy book and skim through the cardiac and respiratory at least once a month. For those who got accepted, I highly recommend brushing up on those topics before starting. You can do it guys! Good luck! :).

WSU Nursing Spring 2013
Hi a2012, your gpa will still matter after the interview process. Everything is rated and those with the higher numbers get selected first and then they go down that list. If you have a strong gpa, but a weak interview you might still be able to get through, likewise if you have a weak gpa and a strong interview you might also get through just the same. I can tell you that repeating courses are not looked upon favorably. They want to make sure that the people they select can handle the rigor of the program. I can tell you that there are people who walked into the program with 3.8+ who are struggling. You really need a strong anatomy and physiology background, because it gets deeper and they don't spend a whole lot of time going over things they expect you to know. I think you can do anything you set your mind to, just understand what you are up against and for the interview just be yourself. They asked me questions that I could have never prepared for, but I answered honestly and that's what they are looking for. Good luck and congrats to those who got in.

WSU BSN Fall 2012
Ohh this helps a bundle! I was trying to wait and wait for the information, but I have to travel in the fall and trying to figure out if I'll lose my weekends (I know it might be different when I start)! I am just glad that clinicals are offered during the week, not sure where I got the idea it was only on the weekends! Do you still have to do clinicals once you are out of school? Or the clinicals end when classes do? I did see that I couldn't apply for the scholarship that passed in March, I was kinda sad, but was thinking it makes sense for them to know us first, before they give us funding. Thanks a mil Tristan!

WSU BSN Fall 2012
Hey Tristan, question for ya! How do you get placed in clinicals? Do they give you dates and times and you pick OR they just put you into one? Are all the clinicals on the weekend? And are the clinicals only when you have classes or do they operate year round? Also, did you apply or know of any scholarships that are offered to nurses at the university? Do they offer different ones each semester? I'd like to know... Thanks in advance!

Nova Southeastern 2012 Entry Level BSN
To hold your spot in the program you have to pay $1000? Ohh my! I thought our $200 for our program was steep! WOW Nova LOL... Small price to pay for your future I guess... My good friend just got in to the main campus and she is so excited! Congrats to you all!!!

WSU BSN Fall 2012
The packet said that we would receive information in July! All the classes are empty, so we will all be registering at the same time... Hope that helps!

WSU BSN Fall 2012
Congrats Christina... That is very odd then that they did not contact anyone else on here or someone they know! Perhaps there's just not a lot of spots! It's getting harder and harder to get into these programs! I read on other forums that the Spring semester is easier to get into... Don't give up guys and sincerely wish you all luck! What was your gpa Christina if you don't mind?

WSU BSN Fall 2012
To help clear up a few things, I don't think Christina's letter was from the school of nursing! I am assuming that, because the same day she posted that she got in was the same day I got my general admission from WSU. Perhaps she did not realize it was from general admission and not the school of nursing! I personally don't believe they have sent out notifications off the waitlist as yet! I also totally agree with Tristan that there are several people who had chosen to go to another nursing program, so there has to be a space. They just don't want to give out information, because I can only imagine they are getting a ton of calls and don't want to get hopes up! Keep holding on guys!

WSU BSN Fall 2012
The deadline to send a response for accepted students was either today or tomorrow (don't have the paper in front of me), this means that those who are waitlisted will be getting their notifications soon! Hopefully that helps :)
