Oh wow! I'll check with first point agaon, I guess. I haven't done the application yet, but the instructions did say to apply under the second degree option. Are we supposed to send SAT scores again? What about immunization records?

My understanding is that we just have to do the application/send college transcripts and the criminal background check/drug test right now. I think we will have to get a physical/immunizations but I assumed we would get more info on that once everything with admissions/background check is finished. Have y'all heard different?

I asked Ms. Leak about the immunizations and the CPR course and she said she would send out info about that later. I think you are right that we will get that information after we have been accepted to WSSU. I checked my first point status and everything has been submitted to the nursing department so I am just waiting to hear from admissions.

I am planning to move sometime in December. Is anyone familiar with Winston Salem? What would be some good areas to look for a place to rent?

I'll be traveling from Stokesdale. I'm not familiar enough with rentals in Winston to give a suggestion. Some schools have a list of suggested apartments... Might be worth asking about.

I'm currently in the program and I suggest you all make a facebook group and post the link here so people who received acceptance can join. Our group is really helpful and a few students from the cohort in front of us were added to help with any questions we may have through out the program.

Do any of you have any idea of when orientation typically is? I'm planning on going to Kansas in the middle of December for two weeks, so I wanted to make sure I didn't need to plan to stay home.

Hello!

I am possibly applying to the WSSU ABSN program for 2018. Can anyone who is currently in the program tell me if WSSU only looks at grades and if so, what are the average grades that get you accepted?

Hey! I was just accepted and I had a little over a 3.0 undergrad, mainly because I didn't do well in Organic chemistry, but I am sure they looked over my entire transcript and saw a pattern of me receiving good grades. The website says a requirement is a minimum of a 2.7. I also have worked as a CNA the past 5 years, I was done with my pre reqs when I applied and I had a 4.0 average in them. Hope this helps some! Hey everyone! I am currently in the ABSN in program. I remember last year just finding a LabCorp location near me in order to take my drug test and they were able to fill out what I needed. Also, we had our orientation early January but they may or may not move that up this year to December in order to give you all more time to acquire books and such. Let me know if you have any questions and congrats to those who got in!
