Hi, yes I am applying for Jan 2017. I am an actual alumnae from WSSU and hope to get accepted for the ABSN program. My GPA differs due to taking most of my prereqs at a Community College close to where I live. I made a B in my A&P's and am currently taking Micro this summer and Chemistry in the fall.

I do believe that they will look at your grades in the prereqs, which works out great for me or anyone with good grades in the sciences and psychology's. My grades at the Community College are better than my undergrad grades, but I'm hoping they look at the overall.

Have you taken a look at the updated application for the absn 2017? It doesn't mention the prerequisite information like it did in the past. Has that changed?

I'm looking at it right now and the prereqs are A&P 1&2, Micro, Gen. Chemistry, or one of these Statistics/PSY/SOC/GER (all 2326 course #) and Lifespan Dev (PSY). Hopefully that answers your question. I'm so nervous cause I want this sooooooo bad!!!

Do they have to all be completed by the application deadline (Sept 1) or can you still take them in the Fall. The only class I lack is Micro and I was planning on taking that one in the fall.

You can still be taking at least one in the fall. I'm taking Micro now, but I'm taking Chemistry in the fall. So we are in the same boat..lol

I am applying as well for this upcoming class. I graduated in 2014 with by B.S and have taken all of the pre-reqs. I am a little confused on the application process. I see that it says the deadline to submit the first part of the application by September 1st. Do we mail this in?

Also, when I called the school, they said something different than what was on the website for deadlines and when it is available. Do we send just a copy of our unofficial transcripts, ACT/SAT, and the app? Just by Sept. 1?

Make sure everything you send is an official copy. What did they tell you by phone? I've only been going by what is provided on the website. I'm assuming we mail it in, but the application portal opens from Aug 1-31 so I'm not sure if it can be completed online as well. I think we all need clarity on a few things...lol

It says on the application checklist that you can submit unofficial or official ACT/SAT scores and an unofficial or official copies of transcripts from all colleges/universities.

On the phone they said this was fine, but I was confused on how I am sending this in exactly. And why it is available on their website to fill out but we cannot mail it in until August 1st?

Once we get accepted, that is when we submit a WSSU admissions application to get accepted into the school, she said this is so we do not end up spending 50 dollars and it being a waste. You need to be admitted into the ABSN program, and then also admitted into the school.

OK thanks for the clarification!! Hopefully we will see each other in January í ½í¸†í ½í¸‰

Me too! Does anyone know average grades of people who get in?

No I'm not sure, but from previous threads they mention above average grades i.e. A's and B's 3.0 and above GPA. That's why I hope they look at the overall picture cause I aced my prereqs post Bachelors at a local Community College. During undergrad my grades were average. Right now I have an A average in Micro.

Hi everyone,

I am hoping to apply for spring 2017. They only require your transcripts, SAT/ACT score. From looking at other threads, experience matters like a CNA certification. How would they know about that if they dont require a resume. I just spoke to someone from admission and she said not to send anything extra. Can someone shed some light on this for me please?
