WSSU ABSN 2021 Start

Published

Hello all,

Let's start this 2020 application cycle thread. Anyone will be applying this Summer?

And she said they are sending offers to 50. Last year I think we had about the same number apply and they sent offers to 60. 54 of us accepted, 1 dropped before classes started due to costs & moving from out of state, another student was dropped in May for grades. But the rest of us 52 are still holding strong. y’all up next!! ????

yea, no clinicals unless you have your vaccines current, expect a flu shot every year if you work in any major health care facility. Unless there is a specific documented religious belief.

Also when you guys get notifications.  Someone create a facebook group (that is private) and allow the N19's to join so we can keep you abreast of what we are selling so you can purchase from us, and we give input of what you may or may not need for classes.  Resources that have proven to be helpful for us and whatnot.  It's what the previous class did with us!

Yes please. I don’t want to waste money on things that aren’t needed.

A day in the life... it depends. Pre covid it looked a lot different. And everybody’s studying looks different also. Some study a little (or a lot!) all week, I like to study the morning of an exam. some balance assignments all week, Others procrastinate. I’ve truly learned you find what works for you. We go to campus about 3- 5x a month for class as of September. And zoom maybe once a week. some tests are virtual, others in person. Expect 1-3 quizzes per week. I don’t think I’ve had less than 1 quiz per week the whole program.

also, found out from a professor yesterday during class about 130 ppl applied for the N-20 cohort.  Good luck all! If you have other questions, happy to answer them!

Thank you for all the information ! I applied early August and graduated in 2017 from Unc Greensboro. I’m nervous because my pre-req grades aren’t the best - 3.1 do you know if anybody getting in with a lower pre req GPA ?

my overall was a 2.9 & my prereqs were a 3.4. I’m sure there are people around that range. I was borderline with my overall GPA. I think they look at whole picture.

OK thank you ? my overall GPA is 3.25 . I’m glad they look at the overall picture

Same my overall was a 2.8 and my prereqs were 3.6.  I hope there wasn't too much judging going on from my undergrad GPA I was playing around and having fun in school.  LOLI grew up and I got my act together for my Masters program and certainly for this program hardly no time for fun!

I swear I remember being right where you guys are now...., tossing and turning in my sleep and just anxious.  Now I can't wait to be done with all of this!  Im sure many of you will experience this same feeling once you're accepted!  Can't wait to potentially meet some of you in the coming months and good luck to all!  Throw back a couple of drinks while you wait ?!!

Which GPA do you think I should aim for as an undergrad applying to the traditional nursing program?

@shyannekendra the GPA requirements are the exact same.  Minimum of 2.6 GPA, however if those prerequisite grades are looking great, the better your chances are of getting in as long as you meet all other qualifications.  I will tell you that more students are accepted in the traditional track (not saying it's any less stressful) but I that alone increases your chances of getting in.

For the physical and lab work did you guys have to use a particular form that the primary care providers had to fill out?
Also, has anyone heard anything today from the school?
