Hello all,
Let's start this 2020 application cycle thread. Anyone will be applying this Summer?
A day in the life... it depends. Pre covid it looked a lot different. And everybody’s studying looks different also. Some study a little (or a lot!) all week, I like to study the morning of an exam. some balance assignments all week, Others procrastinate. I’ve truly learned you find what works for you. We go to campus about 3- 5x a month for class as of September. And zoom maybe once a week. some tests are virtual, others in person. Expect 1-3 quizzes per week. I don’t think I’ve had less than 1 quiz per week the whole program.
also, found out from a professor yesterday during class about 130 ppl applied for the N-20 cohort. Good luck all! If you have other questions, happy to answer them!

I swear I remember being right where you guys are now...., tossing and turning in my sleep and just anxious. Now I can't wait to be done with all of this! Im sure many of you will experience this same feeling once you're accepted! Can't wait to potentially meet some of you in the coming months and good luck to all! Throw back a couple of drinks while you wait ?!!

Whew! I will definitely be throwing back some LOL. Can’t wait to potentially meet you as well.
I agree with @Ashlee Clark let me know if you need anything! Make this experience yours, however know that you can't do nursing school alone and you need a good study group and a great group of cohort PALS to share a drink, lunch, or complaints with from time to time (more than a little bit).
For those that do get in... Here is a list of things you are expected to take care of before classes start. We had less than 5 University business days (they closed for Christmas ?) to take care of this stuff
1- pay for ATI ($550-900 CASH only, no CCs or online payments)... previous year were $500, N19s saw a price increase and future classes can expect an increase also
2- alllll your vaccines including:
*two TB tests, *3 tetorifice shots (one must be within the last 10 yrs and can’t expire before graduation), *MMR series or titer, *Varicella series or titer, *Hep B series or titer
-current 2020 flu shot
-current physical with CBC, lipid profile & vitals.
-current unexpired CPR card (if it expires before end of the program, you will have to redo & pay for the American Heart Association CPR class of your choice. Last year the university hosted one for a fee.)
For my fellow CNAs & healthcare workers, I used my job to cover my CPR, and outdated vaccines while I was still employed. They will often do this anyway so I didn’t have to mention it was related to nursing school.
Take care of these things BEFORE!! the holidays to save yourself some trouble. Also if you are from out of state have physical copies of all items just Incase...

Ah so it’s just what really works for whomever personally. Oh wow, 130. I was expecting it to be higher than this.
