Hello Everyone. This is my first post. I just finished up AP1 and Chemistry pre-reqs. I still have AP2, Micro, and Dev. Psych to take this Fall. I am hoping to get accepted to WSSU's ABSN program for Jan admission. Anyone know someone in the program. What do you know about it. I am trying to get an idea of what life is like for a student ..schedules etc. I am trying to plan in advance for child care and manage my husband's expectations. I look forward to starting the program. I am too excited. Also, my husband keeps asking me what Baptist pays new nurses. I can't seem to find an answer. Anyone know. I try to tell him that, it is really about me finding a fulfilling career, not about the money..but that only gets me so far. (We have been living off his salary for a while.) Any thoughts welcome on WSSU or any ABSN program.

Just curious, why are their only 37 in your class. I though they usually accept 40. Did anyone drop out? Also what is your schedule like? Particularly evening and weekends. Are you studying every evening, at school/clinical in the evening or do you have some nights to just chill out. Thanks for your great response.
They did accept 40 which is what we started the program with. One fellow dropped out that first week as he quickly learned his heart wasn't into the program enough to subject himself to the quick pace. We lost the other two due to grades. You must pass each class with at least a C or higher in order to move on to the next block of classes.
Regarding the amount of free time you have. It really depends on the type of learner you are, how you manage time, what other commitments you have (work/family), and honestly how stressed out you get. I for one find that I have plenty of time to get everything done while still maintaining a high GPA. We routinely have 2-3 days a week where we don't have to be anywhere for class. I know some people require more time to study and read so I can't really convey how much free time to expect.
I received an EMPTY envelope from WSSU division of nursing today. When I calld to see if anyone could tell me what the decision was they said I'd have to wait until they sent me another letter to find out. Prior to this I ok with waiting until mid-October. Now I'm anxious and obsessing over the size of the envelope I received. Usually small envelopes are bad, but I've had two acceptance letters from other schools that were small so who knows. Sheesh.
