Would you suggest your chosen profession to someone trying to choose a career? If yes, why? If no, why not?
Thanks :)
I didn't follow the thread after my post but I would still 100% recommend nursing to people. I guess I'll have to make sure they aren't the negative friends and acquaintances so I wont have to hear them complain about how hard they work for $25/hr.... seriously, I've done hard labor for minimum wage and its about 10x more tedious and physical and pays more than 5x less than my current hourly rate.... negative people will think negatively regardless of how great their lives or professions are. Im not a negative person and am quite happy to take my check every 2 weeks for spending my time helping people to the best of my abilities. Im happy to say I spent my first week in Vail colorado gearing up to do my favorite job, NURSING, in a beautiful place. Regardless of how negative coworkers are or how "hard" a job is I do it with a positive, go get it kind of attitude and enjoy myself while doing it....

Again, why so negative? It currently takes me about 8 hours to find a job. I can literally walk off my job one day and be working somewhere else the next day.... people need to be more positive in their professional life and general life. Might help a bit.

Well good for you, however hundreds if not thousands of nurses right now, both new grads and experienced, are not able to do that....so I suggest you allow us to give them a dose of reality...not negativity. Too many are still buying into the concept of the bogus nursing shortage that is being perpetuated by the unscrupulous little nursing schools that have sprung up all over like mushrooms-they are churning new grads out into market that are already saturated with nurses. The average now is 3 nurses to 1 job in many markets.
Don't know where you are...but it's not like that anymore in most places.
