Would you keep applying to a job that rejected you twice or more?

So, position, specialty, or some particular place?

If it would be about specialty, persistence may pay out one day. If it is about a particular type of position, I would try to meet someone already there and figure out what is needed/expected and how I can get it in my CV. If it is a particular place... well, I spent a lot of time and tears after being rejected by one hospital at least half a dozen of times. Then I joined agency, and in a week I got a call practically begging me to come right there and do something - anything - to help. They did not care about orientation, about anything at all but for clear license and warm body. That was not a good sign to begin with but I was too elated to think twice. After a couple of shifts there, I realized that the Lord was definitely watching over me when I received those rejection emails to spare me even more tears and at least another termination for frivolous cause, if not something worse.

Dang right...show them you want the position. There are tons of reason why you weren't hired. If you want it, go after it.

Rejected once? You were edged out by someone well-qualified. Twice? Time to think: are you competing with many applicants because it's a desirable position? Then keep applying. If you don't think that's the case, then it might just be a dodged bullet. Keep looking elsewhere.

I have applied to lost causes when I had to prove effort when drawing unemployment. There is a limit to available employers in any given area, whether or not the receptionist wants to give you the time of day.
