So, it's about that time of year. Many organizations are now awarding their employees their yearly raise. However, you work for an organization that has yet to do so. More importantly, they have not offered anyone a raise in over a year. They are also one of the lowest paying organizations to work for. Other organizations have been increasing their starting wages, yet this organization has yet to do so. Would you address this? If so, with whom? And what would you say?
It depends on how much I liked where I was working. I can't remember when in the past 15 years I've ever gotten more than just a measly cost of living raise. The only time I've ever gotten significantly more was when I changed jobs and I once took a job for less because I liked the culture there better.

We don't get any COL raises but every 5 years or so and then it's only pennies. Merit raises do happen but only to the brown nosers and management's pets. The rest of the loyal, hardworking folks always get a meet expectations evaluation and not exceeds as to not qualify. It's part of healthcare politics. We are an expense and not valued or valuable in their eyes no-matter-what-they-tell-you. They lie between their teeth
