I you don't like being a Nurse Aide then you may rethink LPN because you get to do all the things a Aide does plus pass med, Tx, Orders, Charting, ect.
I must disagree with this.
As an aide, if we had 50 patients and one aide and two LPN's, the LPN's STILL did not pitch in and help me change and turn people. They only did so if they wanted to, but they weren't required to.
I will have at least a year to a year and a half wait to be considered for getting accepted for LPN school. I am having a lot of second thoughts if nursing is even worth it.In the mean time I have to work as an aide. Not thrilled.
Going back to the point.... yes-nursing is worth it. I started as an STNA in a nursing home, and went back to get my LPN 4 years ago. There were MANY times that my previous experiences helped me. From knowing different conditions to just flat out being more comfortable around different people. Takes alot to freak me out now. :)
