Nurses, If you are a smoker, do you feel bad because you know it is not a healthy choice? Or do you feel that because of all the stress you are under it is your right?
  2. Are there plenty of jobs for LPN's? Are they considered nurses? I have heard that some hospitals are phasing LPN's out. What is the attitude like on your job?
  3. Hello I am wanting to apply to LPN school. I am wanting to get my lpn license, and work in a facility that will pay for my further education. I have heard LPN's are getting phased out in some hospitals. But yet I also read that LPN's do get jobs and ARE in demand, just depends on where I want to work. So, I guess I am asking...are LPN's in demand? Or will I be wasting a year of my life?
  4. Is there a big demand for nurses on Indian reservation? Will they accept NON native american applicants?
  5. Do hospitals and LTC facilities hire brand new graduates? Or do they want tons of experience like everyone else?
  6. Greetings, and I want to say NURSES RULE! I am strongly considering going to nursing school for LPN. I would like to know what a typical day is like for you. I know duties vary from whether you work in a hospital, or nursing home, or home health. But any description of what your day is like would be appreciated. Part of the reason I want to go into nursing is because of the variety. Thank you for your info!!
  7. ok, i hear alot about nurse anethestist. first of all, i dont even know how to pronounce it. my question is....are they the same as a a[color=#0033ff] "anesthesiologist it seems that crna, is a popular field. i am guessing it is good money. but would a crna take the place of the anesthesiologist? sorry i am so ignorant!
  8. There is another college about 45 mnutes away. But I want to live at home so I dont have to pay rent. But technically, I COULD drive to the college that is further away. But I still wouldnt get in THERE until next year. And as a retired R.N....is nursing worth it?
  9. I will have at least a year to a year and a half wait to be considered for getting accepted for LPN school. I am having a lot of second thoughts if nursing is even worth it. In the mean time I have to work as an aide. Not thrilled.
  10. Hi everyone. Let me start off by saying this is a GREAT forum! Everyone is so helpful! I am thinking of a career change. I am planning on applying to LPN school. I am just wondering, if I will be able to learn the skills? Like hanging blood, creating an IV, catheters. I am a smart person. (And a college grad) I guess I am letting fear get the better of me. Is LPN school super super hard??
  11. I have my nurse aide certificate. I have yet to work at it . I have thought about becoming an LPN. Would working as a CNA be a good stepping stone to this job? Or will it be so depressing that I will get discouraged and give up nursing all together?
