I am currently suspended without pay from my job based on accusations by a coworker for patient safety issues ( mostly charting errors) that she had been keeping track of since early Feb. this year and just turned in all her notes at once, which led my unit manager to turn over to HR. They got my side and are investigating my responses to all accusations. I am the third girl this girl has gone after this year. I have decided to get another job ( i have a feeling the end result of the investigation will be termination, because there were so many things she listed) but my question is, if they report me to the board for charting issues ( errors only, no false documentation) then will the board inform any new employer about any remediation I have to take issued from them? Its the VA ( the new job) and I hate to ruin any chance to have a career with them. I hate that they can tie up my life like this for things I did in error and not intentionally! I am glad however that someone FINALLY gave me a clue that my charting was not up to par so I can fix it...after 5 months...

Though I am not well-versed on how each state board handles issues like that, I think it would be more likely that your new employer will find out themselves when they check your license status, so don't attempt to conceal anything from them.
So sorry your first job was sabotaged that way, and from what you are saying, you made the right decision in getting the h outta there, because even if the issues were legitimate, the way it was done is very underhanded. Best wishes to you as you go forward.

If the BON gets involved any employer could find out. Exactly what kind of charting errors are you talking about? I would guess that as long as they weren't something intentional or negligent the BON probably wouldn't be interested.

Wow, if there was a problem with my charting, I would hope someone would mention it to me so I can address it instead of tracking it for months. I think somoene should be investigating this other lady, while she is doing all of this "tracking" is she getting paid for her nursing work? Sounds to me like a real witch. I don't think I would want to stay working there, but honestly, you and the two others she "went after" need to write some formal complaints and address this situation so it doesnt keep happening to others. If there is something wrong tell me, and I will fix it. This can't be all one sided, there are three of you, you need to stand up for yourselves.
