Most Dubai hospital require DOH test passers.

MOH is for the government hospitals. There are a few in Dubai but mostly are in other emirates like Sharjah and Fujeirah.

I would advise nurses to really check each's emirates' requirement on being a licensed nurse here in the UAE. They differ in several aspects. I am a nurse in Abu Dhabi. And I took the HAAD test instead. It is very important to note though that almost if not all of the health authorities in the UAE require that a foreign nurse must have at least 2 years hospital experience from his/her country of origin. Working as a nursing assistant here will get you nowhere, unfortunately. Well, unless you are way too lucky to be married with your bosses. :) And i think that is what the thread/topic starter meant with nightmare.

There is no room for promotions and wage increases for non-license nurses in this country. :zzzzz

Thanks myonee but which one will go first: find a job then apply for a license or apply a license then find a job? Is it any good if you just want to be registered in UAE without a job offer? How long will the license last or is there a periodic renewal?

How much does a nurse in Dubai earn? What is the average salary?

Will a US Licensed Filipino nurse with 2 years US hospital experience be exempted from sitting their nursing exam?

I am asking this because I am currently in the US on an H1c visa and there is a probability that I might have to leave US in Feb 2011 when my working visa expires. Im exploring my options such as Canada,Australia and probably Dubai. As you know there is still Immigrant visa retrogression in the US

Hi miztahcool! sorry for the late reply.

You actually do not need to have an employer to take the DOH nor HAAD nor MOH exam. Once you get licensed, all the good employers will be calling you up.

I do not know what "good" can that bring if you are registered but is not working here in the UAE. It will help boost your self esteem maybe :) But if you have other choices than the middle east, go, choose them. The middle east, I believe, is not for long term plans.

Once you get licensed, it is good for one year. You may renew it after with the use of CNE/CME credits from trainings and seminars. Your employer usually arranges them. your license will be renewed for another 2 years.

Please do not get me wrong, I am basing things here as per my license which is HAAD (Health Authority of Abu Dhabi). It is similar with DOH (in Dubai) and the MOH (for most big government hospitals in sharjah and Fujeirah) but they are not completely the same. :coollook:

Yes, it is possible.

As far as I know, all Health Authorites of each's Emirate here in the UAE need at least 2 years experience. The MOH, 2 years ago, did not ask for any hospital experience. It was only mid of 2009, I believe that they asked for stricter requirements.

Dear Sir/Madam:

I'm an international graduate and i would like to inquire regarding my future application for licensure as registered nurse in dubai. Do i need to have an employer to be able to take the DOH exam or i can just take it as an individual, because one of the requirements for licensure is to fill up the application form specifically the Health Professionals Licensure form by the facility, if ever i found an employer who will fill up this form? is it the facility or the person who is applying for the licensure? And one more question where and how can i get the recent good standing certificate from the medical council? please enlightened me. Thank you very much an i hope to hear from you soon.

With regard to the experience required prior to taking the examination (DOHMS and MOH)...Would clinical experience as a 'Company Nurse' be sufficient to take the exam?

I passed the moh exam conducted by moh uae here in the philippines last week. does that mean am already a licensed nurse in uae? I have only 1 year and 2mos hospital experience but they allowed me to take the exam, some has no hospital experience. The employer is from fujairah, uae and my interview is tomorrow (January 25), hope I can make it....

Btw, if I'll go in uae as tourist, what is my chance of getting a nursing job? thank you
