On my campus we the nurses are responsible for the paper work for workman's comp. No biggie. They fill it out we forward it to the administration office. Done.
Today, we had an altercation in an upstairs hallway. After all was clear I spoke with all the staff I was told was involved, which was a total of 2. After instructing them to "report only" they both said, "oh, I will be fine. I won't need to go anywhere." So I come back to my office an pull out the paper work to put in their boxes. As I am doing this a student comes to my office for ice for a 3rd teacher involved. Sent paperwork back with student for 3rd teacher.
My coordinator was able to watch the video of the altercation. She went and talked to the staff again. Well, guess what? They all will fill out a report only. Just frustrating sometimes. I really know what I'm talking about even without video proof. {end of rant}

Yikes! Was this an altercation with a student? This is when I am glad that my kids are all in K and 1st. They can be physical too, but thankfully can't do much damage (yet) to the teachers.
I am on a high school campus. It was between 2 girls. Everyone keeps saying that they just would not stop and it was tough breaking them up. One was still aggravated after about 10 minute cool down time.

We just had a fight between 2 girls at my middle school last week that was so bad the police were called.
Thankfully I was out with a sick child that day.

My WC process is a bit more involved - 3 papers - 2 for the employee, 1 for me. Plus a call to the insurer even for a report only. I know for sure that i've had employees avoid reporting minor otj injuries because they did not want to go through the process.
