working in san diago as BSN

hi, I am a Registered nurse in Perth Australia, and thinking of moving to San Diago. I have done my BSC nursing in Australia and I am permanent resident here, not Australian Citizen yet. moving to SAN DIAGO, for nursing , if it going to be really challenging to clear NCLEX and find a job. I work as a practice nurse with GP,will I be able to get a job in medical centre there?

Thanx for ur information. , but is there any way I can work there , if I get student visa. I haven't got any other experience apart then working in primary health medical centre for 3 years.

Or other option what can I study in US after doing BSC nursing.

Student visas are granted if you can show proof of funds to support yourself the entire time a student here and pay all tuition and fees (nearly triple the local resident fees) and the understanding that you will return to your home country post completion/graduation. Plus most masters programs would require a CA RN license but you are ineligible without a valid SSN.

If you do not have 5+ years specialty experience in a desired specialty it's unlikely that you will meet the requirements of H1B. With the abundance of US citizen/PR nurses it's unlikely you will find a facility willing to accept the costs and paperwork to sponsor for H1B. Or even EB3 with the delays due to retrogression.

One option is to get your Australian citizenship and then look at E3 visa. This is only available to Australian citizens and as long as you find a US employer who provides the correct paperwork you can apply for the visa and live and work in the US. You will need to have met a state's requirements and passed NCLE! Once you have done this you will need a visa screen certificate from CGFNS

Being a Australian citizen , but still I won't have enough experience, how will I get a job there? I will get citizenship next year and by then I won't have enough experience .

Suggest reading the numerous posts on E3. You may want to consider gaining acute care experience or something that will make you more desirable to employers. Also try looking for posts by ghillbert who is in the US with E3 and has experience obtaining that visa
