hi am Lydia a registered midwife from Ghana with a diploma in midwifery certificate well I want to know about the requirements in place for me as a Ghanaian midwife to work in colorado
Bad news even if your credentials are good plan on one year of studying, based on the last statistics, nurses from your country have a very low pass rate on the nclex exam.
No one has asked you, do you have tbe legal right to work in the usa?
so to clarify, contact the colorado board of nursing, they will examine your education to see if you qualify for the right for the nclex. You can not apply for midwife program until you pass the nclex, the school will evalate your education and tell you how much more schooling you will need. Plan on one to four years more, and a funding source for the schooling.
She is not a nurse midwife so she's ineligible for the nclex/RN licensing. She'd be a non-nurse homebirth midwife if qualified.
