Working on a mica unit

What is it like working on a mica unit. Is it high stress? What are some of your duties?

please -- the shouting!

we used to have one couple of years back... ours was not a big unit so only eight patients at any given time. there was an RN, LPN and CNA. things never got too out of hand except for meal times and mandatory drug counseling.

I don't know for sure since I don't work on one but I did do a clinical rotation through one. I really disliked psych nursing clinical partially for that rotation BUT I will say that I didn't notice the nurses acting too stressed or many super crazy events. I just personally don't have enough sympathy for those kinds of patients to be a good nurse to them. God bless the nurses who do.
