Working after a license is revoked or surrendered

Is there anyone here that has had a license revoked or surrendered in another state, but was able to work on a license in another state? I know that if you surrender or have a license revoked, you are automatically entered into the national practitioners data bank which makes it difficult to work for an employer that receives funding from Medicaid and medicare.

my question is there anyone who has had difficulty obtaining employment after a revoked license in another state?

I have a job interview Monday and would really like to hear some success stories.... I am sick to my stomach after realizing that I may be unemployable after all my hard work in the IPN program. all this time and money may have been for nothing...........

i honestly feel your pain..... and understand......I have been where you are, with out the benifit of IPN...... FIRST YOU HARD WORK AND MONEY INVESTED IN IPN is not a waste.....it is the begining of your recovery........ you truly have a choice...... work recovery, live recovery, recover and be able to practice nursing again unencumbered....eventually.....

you can work at VA hosp under any lis.....eventually all of your lis will be displined for your current infraction......if you return to a clinical setting, with same access.....with immature sobriety and recovery, you will probably use again...... having to submitt to random screens may help........please trust me on this, and do not make the same mistakes I did. I probably have the most displined lis in Tx., I am not proud of that....but with 12step recovery alone, i have 27years clean, and a now well respected sought aftet critical care nurse again and administrative nurse as DON. I reccently steped down from my lucrative DON job to care for my husband and his bypass surgery.... while he was in surgery i was recruited for another DON position in another LTC...... my last several jobs recruited me, i did not seek them....it does get better.

when i was without a lis, i had the benifit of working in dr offices as med assist office unlis nurse, several dr happy to get rn skills for low dollars.......i also worked for a national medical supply company...... i did not make significant money, but i got by and my recovery and sobriety matured.

what you are feeling and experiencing is the "rock bottom" which i promise is necessary for successful recovery. I am here to help you as others were here to help me decades ago .......

thank you so much for the encouragement, sally. another obstacle I have in front of me that hinders getting employed is my criminal background. I have a few misdemeanors on my record.... I really look like crap on paper. I just pray someone has a soft spot in their heart and hires me.....

Once I'm reinstated I was told the BON could take up to 90 days to change my status. I was so hoping to Not have to disclose my ISNAP program to a potential employer!! Ug..
