hi, im basically new here, i wanted to hear your feedback, i have a full time job from 9-5 and wanted to go back to school this fall, nursing school to be specific. i am in the process of completing the requirements to get into lpn program here at our local vo-tech. However, i am having second thoughts if i can make it and if it's do able. part time sched is 5:30-10 pm w/c doesn't give me a lot of time to get to school from work. i may be just making it at 30 mins commute. Im 29 y.o. married w/ no kids. Need your encouragements, insights and positive outlook. thanks a lot!! any comments would be greatly appreciated. :stone really scared!
wow! you work 2 jobs and still go to school? do you go to school full time also or part time? is the course really tough? coz i've been out of school since 98, its been a while for me and i'm really scared that i won't be able to meet the expectations and demands of this course. I really wanted to be a nurse but soo scared. thanks !
In my courses, the nontraditional adult learners performed just as well as the young adults who were fresh out of high school, even though they hadn't been to school in years. Some people end up placing more value on education at age 30 than they did at age 18.

WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET!!! good luck! :pumpiron: :roll
I graduated in dec from lpn school. i went to night school. i worked full time in a doctor's office. i left home at 6:30 in the morning and got home at 9:30 pm. It was difficult but if you have a good support system at home it is very do-able. Fortunately I have a very supportive husband and a well adjusted 6 year old. He did all the laundry the whole 18 months. I was also fortunate that work let me be flexible in the hours I worked (going in early to leave early etc). It was worth it in the long run. You just have to be determined.
Hey, what you plan on doing is definitely do-able. I graduated five years ago with my LPN. I worked full time, 5 - 11 and had a 5 month old newborn. I will admit it was hard, but you just have to balance life and make a schedule and stick to it. Keeping up with assignments, reading ahead and having questions makes it easier. Also get to know classmates and have a study group in between classes and email questions to each other. That definitely helped me and lots of others that were working full time in our class
GOOD LUCK:mad:

It is very do-able! I work full time in a nursing facility and attend nursing school as well. I have a serious boyfriend and no kids. My boyfriend is very understanding of my schedule which helps because we dont see each other much.I won't lie......it is very hard but definately do-able!
