working full time, is lpn do able?

I think you will do well...it will be hard and you will have some restless nights of course. I seen people make it who had full time jobs working night shifts.

You will be "on the go" from before work time at 9am (since you have to get up, shower, hair, makeup, dress, and commute) until at least 10 since you still have to drive home. Sure that's do-able but I know that I was told to expect 3-5 hrs of homework a night. When are you going to fit in studying and homework? Even if you get only 3 hrs homework, if you get home at 10:30, you'll be doing homework until 1:30AM! And you still need to sleep. We had to sign something stating that we would not work any more than 24 hrs a week while in school.

Is it do-able I'm sure it is since I've plenty of friends who've gone to nursing school and worked full time. But they were always exhausted and pretty much on edge.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade but I personally wouldn't want to try to do it. I wish you the best with what ever decision you make.

Working fulltime plus school is totally workable. I have been doing it for 1 1/2 years and I am almost done. My whole class consists of fulltime workers and mothers, however, we are in a weekend program and have classes on Friday and Saturday. As far as the workload, it was hard and extra time was slim to none. But when I look back now (1 month from having my license!!) it was all worth it! I sure that you will find that you can do more than you think you really can! Go for it, and see if there is a weekend nursing program in your area!

it can be done, you have to organize your time wisely. Do you have time at work to study because having a husband will get in the way of you studing some nights. Lets be real you come home and he's in the mood, sometimes he'll settle for not tonight I need to study but not every night. So consider how this may or may not affect your marriage. Sit and talk with him and give him heads up on the fact he will have to share you with homework and studying.

I forgot to add that I worked full time as a cna. Shifts where friday 3-11, sat. and sun., 7am -11pm. I managed pretty well with this schedule, although it took a toll on my kids because need less to say we could never do anything on the weekend.It paid off in the long run, I now make $23.83 working as a government contractor in an ent office at a military base. Scarafise paid off.

doable but rough...wil require a lot of back up from spouse...if you could change hours or shift to part time it would help but i know that this is not always possible

Hello sir or madam, I work full time 2 jobs and still had time to go to school..just recently graduated. You'll be overwhelmed by the late night studies and homeworks..and early morning clinicals...but in the END...it will be all worth it..so i think ITS DOABLE...go kick some ass.

wow! you work 2 jobs and still go to school? do you go to school full time also or part time? is the course really tough? coz i've been out of school since 98, its been a while for me and i'm really scared that i won't be able to meet the expectations and demands of this course. I really wanted to be a nurse but soo scared. thanks !
