I am a "cable guy" doing pre-req for nursing.. I only have microbiology left and thinking of applying to the RN in fall....the colleges here in Jacksonville FL only have full time RN...how can I work and go to school?, or is this even possible? I am the sole provider in my family, my wife is a stay at home mom now getting into college and we can't make enough even if me and her was to work part-time, or should i get a student loan, which I really dont want to do....or should i jus go for LPN which is available part-time in the college, which is another thing i did not want to do be cause of the big drop in pay from tech to LPN is way too low...any ideas? so far my GPA is at 3.5 since its tough finding time to study but i am making it..is this even enough to get in?

I don't know where you got your information, but there is an evening/weekend program at FCCJ. That is what I applied to. FCCJ goes on a point system:

A&P I

A&P II

Micro

MATH (college algebra or higher)

Human Growth and Dev

Eng Comp

Psych

Sociology

1 Humanities course

Take the #CR (ie: 3 or 4 CR) mult by the grade (A=4, B=3) then add together.

Take the NAT then add together your Academic Apt, Reading comp, and Nat Sci scores. Mult that by .64,

Take both totals and add together

Average evening/weekend cutoff last year was in the low 190s.

Check out FCCJ>

it figures, almost everything they told me has been false, almost like they don't want me there or something.I wish UF was not so far, i'd rather go with them. I was told that the FCCJ evening program was cancelled....well I got to get my micro and do the NAT still, so i may not enter until spring 2010...i hope i can get someone who knows what they talking about. thank you.
