Work work , where are you?? _passer since 2007

:pi am a board passer since june 2007, after having my prc id, ivt bls, i started applying to different institutions and after almost 3 years i still dont have work. my batchmates have work now, most of them went to middle east and some are working to different hospitals in manila.

me, i have nothing to do so i decided to take other exams. after passing my nclex and ielts, up to now i was not able to found a hospital where i can apply my nursing skills and to have a hospital experience.

i am just disappointed for i have so many applications to hospitals here in the philippines i was not even hired or even called for training.

early 2008, i took the initial exam from a hospital in quezon city, but i did not make it. :crying2:

mid 2008, after passing the initial exam from a hospital in san juan, i was not even called back, and as i inquire to the hospital on why they are not calling me for the next step of their application process, they simply said that they changed their management and encouraged me to reapply again.

last year, 2009 i was called by a reputable hospital and passed all their series of exams , and unlucky iam, i did not passed the final interview. :crying2:

i was so devastated for it was what i have been waiting for, then i just let it slipped away.

it seems that i am very hopeless and i find myself too lazy to try or apply again because of my bad experience.

after months of contemplating, i was uplifted from a video of a man named nick vujicic,

and here is what he said:

"there is some times in our life that we fall down and feels there is no way to get back up

if you feel that it is imposible to get back up.... it is not

i will try a hundred times to get up

and if i fail and i give up

do you think i will gonna get up.... no

but if i fail and try again and again and again and again...

i just want you to know that it was not the end

it matters on how will you gonna finish.. are you gonna finish strong or what?

and i find that strength to get back up. and i ewas encouraged to apply again.

afterwards, i started applying again to some hospitals where i applied before.. most of them told me that they are freeze hiring, others just accept my resume or logged on to their log book for their future references.it is just the same scenario like before. :p

but still i have a positive outook in my career and i will try again and again and again until i was able to reach my goal...:lol2:

a person can only be considered as a failure until he stops to try again....

'"If we're not gonna go out there (under the sun!) to submit applications,go hospital hopping,if we're not gonna try that, jobs won't come to us."

"Keep your eyes fixed and I believe the Lord will reward us in His perfect time."

That is just so nice,it moved me. ;) I think maybe because it speaks a lot about me.I've been doing nothing for almost two years. I'm always hesitant to step forward (i don't know why). I already have 2 years experience in one of the tertiary hospitals in a province as a Staff Nurse,Operating Room Department. I resigned from the job last 2008 coz I had to focus on the NCLEX exam, which I fortunately passed last year.(thank God). Now,I've been just wallowing and not even trying to try my 'luck' in some hospitals.

But with your words,I might go out and kick some ass.hahaha!

Thank You.

how did you apply for the NCLEX exam? can you help me with it? you can email me at [email protected]. Thanks and congratulations!

Each state will have their own requirements and remember you are not applying for NCLEX but license to be a nurse in a state in the US. Suggest you have a good read in the International forum where there are many threads discussing this

Hello everyone, im in the same boat as everyone. Please do tell how worse am I in comparison.

I am a December 2007 RN passer and in the same year , I gave birth to my daughter (now turning 3). So as a newly single mom I took care of my baby full time while not being able to work nor I was in any efforts to seek one.

In June 2009, (Almost 2 years of baby sitting) I enrolled and took Master of Arts in Nursing then only earned units. However unable to finish the second semester because I took NCLEX in January 2010. Unprepared with only 3 days before the exam of studying, I failed NCLEX.

So now wanting to redeem myself I planned to go to Canada in August to prepare and sit for the October 2010 CRNE. Being there 2 months ahead of the test date will give enough time to prepare and study without having to run and take care of my handful kid.

hus I think I might have a better chance in passing. CRNE first then if I have the chance to sit for NCLEX second time I will accomplish both.

So to everyone here just explore your options. If you happen to stumble and fall, stand up and strive harder the next time... Good luck to all of us :)

Hi there batch mate! I am also a June 2007 passer and still don't have a permanent work up to now. I did some volunteer work in a government hospital but unfortunately I wasn't absorbed because I don't have any backer. I think the best thing that we can do now is be patient in finding a job and keep on praying!!!

Good luck to us RNs God will never leave us alone!:)

silverdragon102 is right, each state have their own requirements.if you want to know which state would you want to apply to,go first to www.ncsbn.org ---list of states and the website add is there, you only have to choose.Visit the website and you can find information for the steps in applyin for examination.Good Luck to you.

Let's be diligent. God will never forsake us.

It can be disheartening..come next board exams, another influx of newly registered nurses will join us, making it much harder for all of us..

Same as what everyone else is saying. HOSPITAL HOPPING even the small ones. I'm batch 09 and I was hired recently in a hospital in manila (100+ bedspace though). NO BACKERS. You just have to prove yourself and work hard.

It only ends when you quit.

sometimes it is also by luck.

So, you don't have an allowance? or It's just a volunteer?.Would that be Ospital ng Makati?

I do have pay though its minimum. :)

It's a legit position as staff nurse. Sorry I can't tell which hospital I work for because of privacy reasons. I'm like the only new guy there.

Nway, what I'm trying to say is...if you try. God knows how hard I tried. You'll find it. Just ready yourself and be sure you deserve the job.
