I have been offered a job at two different hospitals.
1.) CVICU at Baptist Memphis, TN
2.) CSICU at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore MD.
Both of these hospitals meet the requirements of ICU experience. Both are Cardiovascular ICU experience.
Would the job at Johns Hopkins look better on my resume when applying to schools?
Any advice?
No, it isn't going to make a difference. You can always PM loveanesthesia since he/she has been a nurse anesthesia educator for 18+ yrs, and ask their opinion.Yes, In my opinion I believe that Hopkins would be the better place to work. But it would be a drastic move for me. About an 1000 mile move.I was just curious if having worked there would be a big difference when it came to applying for CRNA school.Anyone?
Have you considered the intangibles? Yes, Hopkins is a first rate hospital, but it is in a pretty run down area of Baltimore. You probably wouldn't feel safe living anywhere near there. Baltimore has a pretty high crime rate, in general. I know nothing about your other option. I suggest you consider the lifestyle you will have in either of these places before making a final decision.
