I got home today from a 2wk Christmas trip to find my Temporary RN license in the mail.. I was so excited.
I took it up to work they made a copy and gave me my new name badge with RN on it. I must say those lil letters look really good on my badge
I start modules on Monday, can't wait...
My orientation is 6wks long, 1 wk modules, 1wk Telemetry class, and 4wks with a preceptor on the floor..
WOW, this almost doesn't seem real

WooHoo:eek:
So glad to hear that you got your temporary license. I'm still waiting on mine.
Congratulations, I hear that when we begin working in a hospital is when we really start learning to be a nurse. Can't wait to get mine.
Thanks everyone.
I was so excited when I opened the temp license. I mean it actually makes things seem real. Makes those past two years of headaches and stress worth it... Even though I know I will still have plenty more headaches and stress, but at least this one comes with a paycheck :)
DGfuturenurse... It didn't take long for my stuff to come in. I sent it on the 17th, and it was mailed on the 26th. Not too bad.

hey nurs2b,
we finally did it! can you believe it?
you are so right about all the headaches. since graduation (dec 13th), i have had only one migraine! i usually get at least 1 or 2 per week. my neurologist was the 4th person i called to tell them i passed. the nurse told him my message, and he called me back within 10 minutes to congratulate me and give me strict orders of no more schooling (i plan on going to get a msn asap) until the migraines are under control. since then, he has called every week to see how many migraines i have had.
sorry i forgot, but what department are you working in? i switched from l/d to emergency. i love it! well, i have only worked one shift, but it was amazing. i was busy the whole time there. my shift went by so quickly, but i learned so much in one day. my highlight was proving a doc wrong. of course, i didn't tell him, but i did tell my fellow nurses.
as soon as we pass the nclex, we have got to talk to brian about a name change! :chuckle
i hope you are having a safe and happy new year!
Hey Moni... We finally finished...
I am the same with the headaches.. Migraines are one thing we have in common. I actually had one last night, probably due to tension of trying to clean house and getting it ready for Monday, when I start to work..
When did you start working???
I took a position in Orthopedics. I have worked there for 1 1/2yrs as a PCA, so I know the staff and I am comfortable with the bones.. :) For the most part anyways.
What did you Dr. put you on for your migraines.. I have bounced through a few different meds, they seem to work for a while then stop working??
Great to hear from you..
PS.. Im trying to think of a new username as it is?? Any suggestions?? I want something ORtho related...
Oh yeah and for Christmas my In-Laws got me a Littman Cardiology Stethoscope with my name engraved in it.. :)
