I am very determined to become a WHNP but was wondering about the working hours because I would love to do the 3X12's. Also, where do most of them work? The hospital or the office? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

WHNP's generally work in the office setting, which means 9-5 days. If you're interested in working 3 12's, you can become a CNM and work as a laborist in the hospital.

Danggit! i would love to be a CNM but then you have to be on call all the time for your patients.

Not all midwives take call. Midwives practice in a variety of settings. Some midwives work as hospitalists-laborists for 3 12's and no call, while others work in private practice. Don't give up on your dream!

You can likely negotiate your hours in an office/clinic setting. I do four 10 hour days, but seldomly am I so behind that I actually stay at work for ten hours.

CNM sounds like a better route for you if you want to do 12's. When I was in undergrad school in New Mexico, CNM's are more common in the L&D arena than OBGYN's, and they got to choose when they did and didn't take call.
