Hello friends,
I am currently still an NP student, and will be done 2020. Question for some of you. My program is an FNP program, not a Women's health program. Are FNPs able to be Women's health NPs? This is definitely an area I love, and do wonder what the best course of action is if I want this to be a plan. Or, if unfortunately I cannot because I am not in a WHNP program.
Thank you for any advice/info!

FNPs can work in women's health. You will not be a WHNP, but care of the woman across the woman across the lifespan is within the scope of an FNP. You will have to compete with WHNPs for those jobs. I'd perceive them as a bit better prepared for that role.

You can become certified in Women's Health. One of my clinic's best NPs did this - FNP, then after several years, went back to school and became Women's Health NP.
