talk to me!!
i discovered the magic of the online classes my 2nd year of the program & i wish i'd been doing them all along.
i took chai in the classroom & then chaii online - my grades improved immensely. i actually enjoy classroom lecture (the only reason i tried online classes was because i just really didn't enjoy the company of my classmates), so i didn't think i would benefit much from the online courses, but they seriously made my life sooo much easier.
i remember being sooo nervous with my 1st online class. the instructor that knew me the best in my program said that online wouldn't be for me, that i wouldn't do well at all, so i was extra nervous. i met up with a couple of the online instructors before registering for their classes & they reassured me that they thought i'd do fine as long as i followed the syllabus. best decision i ever made in nursing school.
details: i went to matc truax & that's where i took all my online classes through, although, i was told i could have taken them through any accredited college.
lemme know if you have any questions!!
Jessica 392 I have taken some classes online before but it really depends on the instructor. I had this one instructor who basically left it up to us to learn the material but the tests were nothing that we were told to know. So I am a little afraid. I have had some great instructors also. It is just so hard when you have never met the person or have no feedback from a student who has had the instructor.
hey cool! wisconsin students! i've got a question for all of you...
i'm just starting nursing at ntc and was wondering about pharm online in the fall... would that be a death sentence? i have a 4.0 and don't want to ruin it... (however i've been told to not worry about the grade and worry more about learning the material)
do you guys have any study tips for online fundamentals? i'm taking that right now. i actually start in a few days and don't have the syllabus or powerpoints yet. i heard that the tests are killer because there is so much info and the questions are written to throw you off.
thanks fellow snow bunnies:typing
Tiny,
NTC grad here...DON"T go into the classes with preconceived notions!!! Study the material, read the questions, really read the answers and go from there.
I found that those who went into the classes "Knowing" the test was hard usually didn't do as well as those who chose to disregard the gossip surrounding the class/program.
Also keep in mind that NTC has, in the past had the highest NCLEX pass rate in the state (Yes, even higher than the BSN programs!). I highly recommend the book Saunders Strategies for Success for the NCLEX-RN Examination by Linda Anne Silvestri. NTC tends to write their tests similar in format to the NCLEX....This book is great!
Good luck!
I live in sc and was going to move up to wisconsin for the fast track lpn to adn program. wondering if i can take some of these courses online before I get there? Not sure how all of this works and didn't know they had online for this (with the exception of excelsior and I am not interested) regards!
